in cui aBruxellessi avviava lapartitadecisivaper il com-
parto dei cosiddetti trattori “stretti” (macchine specializ-
zate per frutteto e vigneto). Sono in via di discussione, infatti,
lenormative cheprescrivono l’applicazionedi sistemi per la ri-
duzione delle emissioni dei motori, dispositivi voluminosi che
obbligano le industrie costruttrici a ridisegnare interamente le
macchine. Se dovessero essere confermati nei provvedimenti
comunitari i tempi d’attuazione indicati nelleprime formulazio-
ni (2017per la “fase IV”; 2019-2020per la “faseV”), le indu-
strienonsarebbero incondizioni di adeguare laproduzionenei
tempi richiesti,congravi ripercussioni sulla tenutadel compar-
tostesso. Il temaèstatosollevato inoccasionedella visitaal-
la rassegnadi EIMA International degli europarlamentari italia-
niMarcoZullo,dellaCommissioneAgricoltura,eDavidBorrelli,
della Commissione Industria, dopo che a fine settembre una
delegazionedellaFederazioneavevapresentato la tematicanel
corsodiun’audizionepresso ilParlamentoEuropeoconunanu-
trita rappresentanza di parlamentari italiani. Nel corso dell’in-
controall’EIMAedellavisitaaipadiglionideiduedeputati, ilpre-
sidente di FederUnacomaMassimoGoldoni, ha sottolineato
quanto le industriehanno già fattoper la riduzionedelleemis-

heEIMA International expositioncoincidedwithdecisive
work in Brussels being played out on the feasibility of
emission Stage IV for narrow high-clearance specialist
tractors of the type for vineyard and orchard operations. Un-
der discussion is the issueof requiringcompliancewithnorms
on exhaust emissionswith bulky deviceswhichwould require
manufacturers to totally redesign these tractors.
If the timetable for theEuropeanUnionnorms for the first step
in compliance –2017 for Phase IVand2019-2020 for Phase
V–stay inplace the industrieswouldbeunable toupdatepro-
duction tomeet the deadlines and this would lead to serious
repercussions for the sector.
The issuewas raisedduringavisit toEIMA International by Ital-
ian EMPsMarco Zullo, on the European Parliamentary Com-
mittee onAgriculture andRural Development, andDavidBor-
relli, on the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, af-
ter aFederUnacomadelegationpresented the issueduringan
audition in the European Parliament, with a large number of
ItalianEMPs present.
In themeetingat theEIMAevent heldduringa visit of the two
EMPs to the pavilions, FederUnacoma President Massimo
Goldoni emphasized thepointsofwhat themanufacturershave
already done to reduce exhaust emissions and that a short
term further tightening of the norms would be unsustainable
for them.
At thismeeting,Goldoni deliveredadocument toZulloandBor-
relli covering the technical and financial considerations involved
in the issueasasort of promemoria fordiscussions in thecom-
ing weeks. The contents of the document affirm that compli-
ancewithcurrent emissionnormsupsets the requirementsof
