piata in termini di giornate lavorativemedie (da3,8a7,5), il con-
toterzismo inagricoltura rappresentaoggi nel nostroPaeseunodei prin-
cipali driver per la domanda di macchine agricole. Questo è quanto è
emerso da una ricercaNomisma presentata in occasione di EIMA Inter-
national 2014 nel corso di un convegno dal titolo “Il contoterzismo co-
me elemento chiave della competitività per l’agricoltura italiana”. Pro-
mossodaEdagricole/NewBusinessMedia in collaborazione conUnima,
Confai, FederUnacoma, Unacma, Enama, e con la sponsorizzazione di
Bkt, l’incontrohapermessoagli addetti ai lavori di fare il puntosuun fe-
nomeno relativamente nuovo per il nostro settore primario, e che per
agricoltori e aziende agricole rappresenta uno strumento per abbattere
i costi di produzione. Infatti, stando all’indagine Nomisma, il 48% degli
imprenditori agricoli richiede il supporto delle imprese agromeccaniche
a causa della mancanza di risorse economiche da destinare all’acqui-
stodimezzimeccanici,mentreun’ulteriore30%per tagliaresui costi de-
gli interventi inproprio (piùonerosi rispettoaquelli conto terzi). Dal can-
to loro, le imprese agromeccaniche si caratterizzano per la capacità di
offrire al mercato un ampio ventaglio di servizi che spazia dallamieti-
trebbiatura (il 77,5% delle operazioni eseguite hanno riguardato questo

n the drive of demand for operations given over to agri-
culturalmechanizationenterprises–which came close to
doubling from 2000 to 2010, from 3.8 days worked on
average to 7.5 – contractors in agriculture in Italy have become
the locomotivedrivingagriculturalmachinerydemand.This iswhat
wasbrought to the surfacebyNomisma research reportedat EIMA
International in a conference entitled, Contractors as a Key Fac-
tor in the Competitiveness of Italian Agriculture. The conference
was put on by Edagricole/New Business Media in collaboration
with Unima, Confai, FederUnacoma, Unacma and Enama with
sponsorship by BKT. During the conference, experts in the field
provided updates on the phenomena relatively new to the Italian
primary sectorwhichhasbecomean instrument for loweringpro-
duction costs for farmers and their enterprises. In fact according
to the Nomisma findings, 48% of the farmers need the support
of agriculturalmechanization companies due to their shortageof
financial resources for thepurchaseofmachinery andequipment
whereas another 30% call on them to cut the costs of their own
operations which aremore costly than those performed by con-
tractors. On the other side, these agricultural mechanization en-
terprises are capable of offering a wide range of services from
combineharvesting,whichaccounts for 77.5%of theirwork, and
soil preparation,69.4%, to seedingand transplanting ,39.8%,and
weeding, 14.9%. Nomisma explained that these operations are
carried out withmachinery with average ages between5 and10
years,which is the case for 73% of the tractors and71% for oth-
ermachinery,whereas theaverageageof 20%of the tractorsand
71%of theothermachinery isover 10 yearsand less than5 years
for only 7% of the tractors. This percentage is marginally higher
for equipment at 8%.Theneed for to replaceof these inventories
with technologically advancedmachinery has thus become very
real for theagriculturalmechanizationenterprises themselves.As
