Service Center, CSO, reported, “The Officine Mingozzi ex-
perience has made it possible to solve important prob-
lems in the fight against fungicide pathologies in crops grown
for the fourth range of vegetables in general, crops in green-
houses as well as open field crops,” in summarizing the tech-
nology developed by the Ferrara-based company for thermal
weeding. The line, marketed under the brand name Tecno
Ecologica, is built in three manual models, the P., the PC2 and
the PZ1 mainly for groundskeeping. The five tractor mount-
ed models, the PFV 600, PVF-D 600, PTR, PTRF and the PTRL,
are each suitable for operations in greenhouses, small plots
and open field operations as well as on sports grounds and
urban areas. In 2010, Officine Mingozzi won an ENAMA In-
novative Mechanization Lines award for the PTRL model
which vaunts equally advanced and profitable operations. The
main advantage brought in with thermal weeding is that the
work leaves no harmful residues on the soil at the end of op-
erations. The type of gas used, propane, works to interrupt
intercell exchanges in weeds and forms only water vapor and
carbon monoxide. In other terms, the plant is subjected to a
genuine boiling process which does not involve carbonization
but only a drying out process. This green technology improves
the quality of the fruit and vegetable being grown, protects
the environment and is shown to lead to financial savings
thanks to the greatly reduced costs per hectare. “We have
obtained strongly positive results on asparagus and carrot
crops and not only, also on potato crops because of the dry-
ing out the leaves and reducing the risk of weevil attack, and
our machines are showing that they are effective instruments
for reducing the introduction of some of the important
pathogens to orchards and vineyards,” said a company com-
muniqué.

«L’
esperienza delle Officine Mingozzi ha permesso di ri-
solvere importanti problemi nella lotta alle patologie
fungine nelle coltivazioni destinate sia alla quarta gam-
ma che agli ortaggi in genere, coltivati in serra oppure in pieno cam-
po.» Luciano Trentini, già direttore del Centro Servizio Ortofrutticoli
(CSO), ha così sintetizzato i plus delle applicazioni messe a punto
dall’azienda ferrarese per i trattamenti di pirodiserbo. Una linea, que-
sta, commercializzata con il brand “Tecno Ecologica” e composta
da tre modelli manuali (P. PC2, PZ1) destinati in prevalenza alla ma-
nutenzione del verde, e da cinque applicazioni per trattore (PFV 600,
PVF-D 600, PTR, PTRF, PTRL), adatte – nelle loro differenti declina-
zioni – a interventi non solo nelle serre, negli allevamenti o in cam-
po aperto, ma anche sui campi sportivi e nelle aree urbane. Mac-
chine sofisticate, dunque, come testimonia il riconoscimento “Linee
di Meccanizzazione Innovative” già conferito nel 2010 dall’Enama
alle Officine Mingozzi per il modello PTRL, che sfrutta un metodo di
lavoro altrettanto avanzato e redditizio. Il principale vantaggio del pi-
rodiserbo, infatti, è rappresentato dalla mancanza di residui nocivi
sul terreno al termine della lavorazione: il gas usato per questo ti-
po di lavorazioni, il Gpl, provoca nelle infestanti l’interruzione del flus-
so intracellulare, formando esclusivamente vapore acqueo ed ani-
dride carbonica. In altri termini, la pianta subisce un vero e proprio
processo di “lessatura”, che ne determina non la carbonizzazione,
ma l’essicazione. Tecnologia “verde”, che migliora la qualità dei pro-
dotti ortofrutticoli e la protezione dell’ambiente, il pirodiserbo si di-
mostra particolarmente conveniente anche dal punto di vista eco-
nomico grazie a un costo per ettaro notevolmente contenuto. «Ab-
biamo ottenuto risultati molto positivi sulle coltivazioni di asparagi,
carote e, non da ultimo, sulla coltura della patata sia per l’essicca-
zione della foglia sia per ridurre i rischi di attacco da tignola – pre-
cisa con una nota l’impresa emiliana – e le nostre macchine si stan-
no dimostrando anche uno strumento efficace per la riduzione de-
gli inoculi di alcuni importanti patogeni nel frutteto e nel vigneto».
