AE is coming to Eima in Bologna with two new entries to
the manufacturer’s line of equipment for skid steer load-
ers. The company in Fondo, near Trento, will present the
restyled UML/SSL universal forestry mulcher and the new
DML/SSL head, which in compact form, follows the basic con-
cept of the DML/HY model for excavators. The UML/SSL
mulcher with fixed teeth rotors is built with a number of sig-
nificant innovations beginning with design which lowered the
profile of the machine to increase the visibility of the imple-
ment from the skid steer loader, locating the rotors further for-
ward to boost their efficiency and the hood opening device, with
hydraulic cylinders protected inside the bodywork. This latter
construction solution resulted in great advantages, including
protection for the cylinders from damage would could be caused
by mulched products and the facilitated closing of the hood
with the slide on three mounting points for guarding against
entry of branches. This special cylinder system, moreover, eas-
es access to the implement for maintenance. The rotor fitted
with C type teeth can also be equipped with tooth type C/SD,
D or Viper type. This UML/SSL technology is available in three
versions according to working width and is powered by a 63 cc
Bosch Rexroth motor or, if required, a variable cylinder Sauer
Danfoss. The new compact fixed blade rotor DML/SSL head for
skid steer power of between 80 and 150 hp comes to the fore
thanks to an energy-saving rotor with E type blades which can
rotated 180° and a reduced power requirement. The real strong
point of the DML/SSL however is performance. This model was
designed for skid steer loaders with the Low Flow system, which
are thus not powerful as regards the hydraulics, but ensures
great productivity due to the performance of the shredder with
E type blades. The DML/SSL is built in two widths, the 125 and
150 models, and two power options, a 17 to 34 cc mechani-
cal variable cylinder motor as standard equipment or a 32 to
65 cc variable cylinder motor coming as an option.

inaugura all’Eima di Bologna il restyling della trincia fresa fo-
restale UML/SSL e la nuova testata DML/SSL che, in termini di
compattezza, riprende lo stesso concept alla base del modello
DML/HY per escavatori. Sulla trincia fresa UML/SSL con rotore a
utensili fissi le innovazioni tecniche più significative hanno interes-
sato sia il design – assetto più basso per migliorare la visibilità dal-
lo skid e rotore in posizione più avanzata per aumentare l’efficacia
delle lavorazioni – sia il dispositivo di apertura del cofano, imple-
mentato con un sistema di cilindri idraulici protetti all’interno del
telaio. Una soluzione costruttiva, questa, che si rivela molto van-
taggiosa poiché protegge i cilindri dai possibili danni causati dalla
fresatura e ottimizza la chiusura dell’applicazione (grazie allo spo-
stamento dei punti di attacco) impedendo così l’ingresso di rama-
glie. La particolare disposizione dei cilindri, inoltre, agevola l’ac-
cesso alla macchina per gli interventi di manutenzione. Equipag-
giata con utensili fissi di tipo C - a seconda delle esigenze di lavo-
ro posso essere utilizzati anche quelli di tipo C/SD, Viper o D – la
tecnologia UML/SSL è disponibile in tre versioni differenti in fun-
zione della larghezza di lavoro ed è alimentata di serie da un mo-
tore Bosh Rexroth da 63 cc, ma all’occorrenza può essere dotata
di un Sauer Danfoss a cilindrata variabile. La nuova testata com-
patta a utensili fissi DML/SSL (per skid da 80 a 150 cavalli) si se-
gnala invece per il suo parsimonioso rotore con lame di tipo E (pos-
sono essere ruotate di 180°), che assicura un ridotto assorbimento
di potenza. Il vero plus del modello DML/SSL, tuttavia, è rappre-
sentato dalle prestazioni. Infatti, pur essendo stata progettata per
minipale con sistema LOW FLOW, dunque non eccessivamente
performanti in termini di potenza idraulica, la testata riesce co-
munque a garantire un’elevata produttività grazie al suo performante
sistema di triturazione con lame E. Il modello DML/SSL si presen-
ta con due differenti larghezze di lavoro (modello 125 e 150) e con
altrettante motorizzazioni: un propulsore di serie a cilindrata varia-
bile meccanicamente (da 17 a 34 cc), ed uno opzionale a cilindra-
ta variabile da 32 a 65 centimetri cubici.
