agricole, uno studio volto ad approfondire i motivi alla base di questa
riduzione di mercato. La ricerca si è sviluppata su due fronti: da un la-
to un’analisi “desk” sui dati censuari delle imprese agricole per com-
prendere i cambiamenti occorsi negli ultimi 10 anni nella struttura pro-
duttiva e nel ricorso al contoterzismo; dall’altro, un’analisi “field”, ri-
guardante un’indagine diretta svolta su un campione di circa 800 im-
prese agricole per capire i motivi alla base del calo delle immatricola-
zioni e, nello stesso tempo, recepire le intenzioni di acquisto future. I
risultati emersi dallo studio raffigurano innanzitutto un quadro di forte
evoluzione nella struttura produttiva agricola italiana, dove a fronte di
un calo significativo delle aziende di minor dimensione, si è affianca-
to un incremento del ricorso al contoterzismo che non ha interessato
solamente le imprese più piccole, ma ha riguardato anche quelle di
maggior caratura. In generale, oltre un terzo delle aziende agricole ita-
liane ricorre oggi al contoterzismo, per un numero medio annuo di gior-
nate pari a 7,5, contro le 3,8 di dieci anni fa. Scomponendo tale im-
pegno per classe di fatturato delle imprese (misurato come Standard
Output), si evince come le maggiori variazioni interessano proprio le
aziende più grandi, con fatturato annuo superiore ai 100.000 euro.

behind the
crisis
Over the past five years the Italian agricultural
machinery market has been subjected to a decline of
30% and is still a cause for worry when compared to
sales trends in such countries as Germany and
France where gains are reported. A survey conducted
by Nomisma for FederUnacoma based on past data
and interviews carried out on a sample of 800
agricultural enterprises has drawn a focus on the
reasons behind this trend. Uncertainty on the future
of farms, increasing recourse to contractors and the
retrofitting of machinery already in farm inventories
are among the factors putting the brake on the
acquisition of new machinery
