Comer industries:
new products to the fore

P
er la Comer Industries di Reggiolo (Reggio Emilia), che con 339,6 milio-
ni di euro di fatturato e 1.252 dipendenti (dati 2012) rappresenta una
delle realtà più dinamiche del nostro panorama industriale, l’appunta-
mento con Agritechnica è molto sentito. L’azienda sarà presente con il proprio
stand e la partecipazione a due eventi: la conferenza

del 14 no-
vembre – al quale il direttore Sales & Marketing Matteo Storchi porterà la pro-
pria testimonianza sull’esperienza in Cina, dove Comer Industries ha una pre-
senza consolidata ultraventennale, con lo stabilimento di Shaoxing (provincia del-
lo Zhejiang) e la filiale commerciale di Shanghai - e il

del 15 novembre, una vetrina dell’innovazione della tecnologia agricola,
con un’intervista al Design Engineer Gabriele Gualdi e una presentazione sui cri-
teri di progettazione degli alberi cardanici, che avverrà durante lo smontaggio e
il successivo riassemblaggio dal vivo di un trattore. Continua il potenziamento
della funzione “Sviluppo Nuovo Prodotto (NPD)” al quale è stato affidato il com-
pito di coordinare i processi interfunzionali relativi allo sviluppo di nuovi prodotti
sulla base della metodologia APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning). Dalla
attività “NPD” è derivata una profonda evoluzione delle linee di prodotto della ca-
sa emiliana – sono stati tenuti a battesimo, tra gli altri, assali di nuova genera-
zione e gruppi ad assi paralleli (come la scatola ingranaggi A-613 R per il set-
tore dei carri miscelatori) – alcune delle quali fanno il loro esordio proprio in oc-
casione della kermesse di Hannover. Ad Agritechnica debuttano infatti il siste-
ma per carro miscelatore semovente, formato dall’assale S-238 (offre eccellen-
ti prestazioni di frenatura) e dal riduttore epicicloidale PGA 2503 VM per l’azio-
namento della coclea; i gruppi ad assi paralleli A-613 R e C3A, che completano
l’offerta per carri miscelatori trainati; la trasmissione N-670 per punte da mais
con trincia integrato, sviluppata dalla casa emiliana per un importante costrut-
tore del settore. Accanto alle “new entry” sono in mostra poi la gamma profes-
sionale VP di alberi cardanici (si distinguono per sicurezza, facilità di manuten-
zione e intervalli prolungati di lubrificazione), i limitatori automatici di coppia, la
scatola ingranaggi per le testate di taglio del grano e le trasmissioni per giroan-
danatore e rotopressa. Nello stand di Comer Industries riflettori puntati, infine,
sul sistema di taglio per trincia caricatrici semoventi che si compone di barra fal-
ciante, scatole ingranaggi e cardani, personalizzabile in funzione delle diverse
esigenze degli operatori.

T
he decision of Comer Industries, one of Italy’s leading industrial com-
panies, to put new product development at the forefront of its efforts
will show its first fruits at Agritechnica 2013. The enterprise will attend
with its own stand and the participation to two events: China in focus conference
on 14 November - where the Sales & Marketing Director Matteo Storchi will il-
lustrate his experience in China, a country in which Comer Industries has a
twenty-year well-estabilished presence with the manifacturing plant in Shaoxing
(in the Zhejiang district) and the commercial office in Shanghai.The second event
will be the Forum Systems & Components on 15 November, a showcase for in-
novation in agricultural technology, with an interview to the Design Engineer Ga-
briele Gualdi on planning criteria of cardan joints, that will take place during a
live assembly and dismantling of a tractor. The new entries at the fair include
new axles, gear reducers, parallel axle groups, and transmission shafts.The com-
pany said all these products are a result of deciding to boost the New Product
Development department at the factory at Reggiolo near Reggio Emilia. The de-
partment coordinates new product development using APQP, or Advanced Pro-
duct Quality Planning. The new products that have include the A-613 R gearbox
for feed mixer wagons, the S-238 axle for self-propelled mixer wagons with ex-
cellent braking qualities and the PGA 2503 VM helix reducer gear for the wa-
gon’s augur, the A-613 R and C3A parallel axles for towed mixer wagons, and the
N-670 transmission for a maize harvesting head and integrated chopper, which
was developed for a major manufacturer. Alongside the novelties, there are the
company’s old favourites such as the VP series of universal joints which are
known for safety, easy maintenance and relatively rare need for lubrication, au-
tomatic torque limiters, an easy system for attaching a universal joint to the
power take-out, a gearbox for a wheat harvesting head, and transmissions for
rotary windrowers and rotary balers. At its Agritechnica stand, Comer Industries
have also put the spotlight on the cutting system used in self-propelled chopper-
loaders which, fitted with a mowing bar, gearbox and universal joints, can be cu-
stomised according to the farmer’s needs.
