I
n occasione di Agritechnica 2013 la FAE Group amplia la gamma di
porta-attrezzi cingolati a marchio PrimeTech. L’ultimo nato, il modello
PT 175, è il veicolo più leggero e più piccolo della serie PT (che già
comprende il PT-300 da 275 cv, il PT-400 da 415 cv e il PT-600 da 600
cv), pensato per chi, pur lavorando con mezzi compatti quali gli skid
steer, è alla ricerca di una macchina più potente e produttiva. Il porta-
attrezzi cingolato PT-175 viene proposto dall’azienda trentina con tut-
ti i “plus” che caratterizzano la gamma e con alcune implementazioni
tecniche che lo rendono ancora più performante. Da questo punto di
vista, gli interventi di PrimeTech (divisione di FAE Group) sono stati vol-
ti a migliorare l’accessibilità alla macchina e ai suoi componenti non
solo per i controlli di routine, ma anche per le operazioni di manuten-
zione più importanti. Infatti, grazie alla possibilità di aprire il cofano
motore nella sua interezza e di ribaltare la cabina, l’utilizzatore può ac-
cedere agevolmente a tutti i componenti del vano propulsore e del po-
sto guida. Manutenzione più semplice anche per il radiatore – il verri-
cello posteriore e le protezioni incernierate consentono di raggiunger-
lo senza problemi – mentre le porte laterali (anch’esse incernierate)
possono essere aperte senza alcuno sforzo, rendendo così più facile
e veloce la manutenzione quotidiana del veicolo. Tuttavia, il modello
PT-175 si distingue anche per i suoi elevati livelli di comfort. Equipag-
giato con una cabina ergonomica, spaziosa e insonorizzata, il debut-
tante della scuderia trentina si fa apprezzare da un lato per l’ampia vi-
suale sull’area di lavoro e per il basso livello di vibrazioni, dall’altro per
la sua estrema manovrabilità resa possibile dalle dimensioni compat-
te della macchina, dal baricentro basso e da una distribuzione ottimale
dei pesi. Disponibile con tre differenti testate forestali con larghezze
di lavoroda 1,4 a 2 metri, PT-175 è equipaggiato con un propulsore
Cummins a 4 cilindri in linea che eroga 160 cv.

I
taly’s FAE Group created its PrimeTech brand in 2005 to build on twenty years
of experience in producing cutting-edge mulchers to produce prime movers
to handle a range of tasks in forestry, soil stabilization and even deep soil con-
version. For Agritecnica 2013, the latest addition to the range is the PT-175, the
most compact and lightweight inn the PrimeTech range, designed for operators
who are already familiar with compact vehicles such as skid-steer loaders and
want a more powerful and productive alternative. The new machine is tracked
to handle difficult terrain and also has various technical innovations to make it
more accessible for routine, but also more thorough maintenance. The whole
engine hood opens completely and an electric pump can tilt the cab so that all
the components in the engine compartment and beneath the cabin are open to
direct inspection. Hinged side doors can be opened effortlessly for daily main-
tenance of the vehicle, and the same goes for the rear winch and hinged radia-
tor guards for quicker and easier radiator cleaning. FAE said that the PT-175’s
operator is at the heart of the design. Perfect control and manoeuvrability have
been achieved thanks to the vehicle’s optimal balancing, ideal weight distribu-
tion, reduced dimensions and low centre of gravity. The roomy, soundproof dri-
ving cabin features excellent operating visibility coupled with a minimal level of
perceived vibrations, and the functions and controls are clear and easy to use.
The three available working widths range from 1.4 to 2 meters. The power co-
mes from a 160 HP, four-cylinder Cummins engine. The PT-175 is designed to
perform light to medium duty work in the forestry sector. One of its strong points
lies in its dimensions, which enable it to work on sites with width restrictions. It
is mainly used for vegetation management, for cleaning undergrowth, cutting
and eliminating bushes and shrubs and for cutting seismic lines. With its 160
HP power, the PT-175 completes the PrimeTech prime mover range, which also
includes the 275 HP PT-300, the 415 HP PT-400 and the powerful 600 HP PT-
600.With these four models, the PT range by PrimeTech is capable of satisfying
the needs of an increasingly numerous and demanding clientele.
