In the segment of elastomeric materials for sprayers, today one of the most significant innovations comes from the Blueflex membranes characterized by high standards of resistance to the chemical agents used in plant protection treatments. It is precisely to meet the demands of a market increasingly oriented towards high-reliability components that Annovi Reverberi of Modena has designed this innovative compound, developed in partnership with a plastics manufacturing company. The research and development phase, as explained by the manufacturer with a technical note, was extremely challenging because it was conducted with the utmost care and attention to every detail, even the smallest. After three years of laboratory tests and numerous field tests, the company from Modena achieved its goal, which was not only to create a product with high “chemical resistance”, but also to offer a superior component to the market. During the field trials conducted in several countries, the compound was successfully tested on over a hundred and thirty chemicals including herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, fertilizers and adjuvants, proving effective against acids, alkali and other solvents. As explained by the Modenese company, the best results in terms of membrane resistance are achieved when the pump is used within the operating parameters recommended by the manufacturer, and by following the common practice of cleaning the system at the end of a treatment and storing it at the end of the season. In short, especially if one follows the few common sense directions provided by Annovi Reverberi, the Blueflex compound proves a valid alternative (in terms of cost and performance) to Vitron membranes, used until now as “protection” against the most aggressive chemicals.
