Present at EIMA International 2018, Gianni Ferrari unveiled the new GTM and GSR battery-powered lithium ion lawn mowers. The two new protagonists of the Reggio Emilia brand are characterized by the abbreviation “+ electric”, and the heart of the two new machines is inside six or eight 54 V battery packs, with a total power of 4.2 and 10.2 kW respectively for the GTM and the GSR (comparable to the power of the 14 and 20 Hp of their corresponding internal combustion models). Another difference between the two models is the cutting system: GSR+ electric has a front plate with three blades with a cutting width of 112 cm and is the tool used for mulching cuts, while on the GTM+ electric the dish becomes ventral and is associated with a 280L collection basket, for an 80cm cutting width. The batteries guarantee 1000 full recharges, which with a seasonal average of 400 hours and 50 days leads to 10 years of possible use of the machines before it becomes necessary to replace them. The batteries work at temperatures between 60° and -20° and boast a significant running time, settling between 6 and 8 consecutive hours, depending on the type of grass being processed. “These machines - reads a company note - stem from the need to meet EU directives and the needs of administrations and municipalities increasingly linked to the reduction and elimination of polluting emissions. In terms of maintenance in the city centre, in Stuttgart, Bruges, Paris and Helsinki, the internal combustion engine has already been almost completely banned”. In order to lengthen the availability of maintenance worker’s operating hours, Gianni Ferrari can support the same machines with one 7 Kw power bank, sold as an extra accessory and also very useful to recharge any type of battery equipment.
