Savigliano fair, a place for agromechanics
The 41st historic exhibition held in Savigliano (CN) saw excellent attendance from a well-prepared public numbering 60,000 visitors. In the spotlight: all the news relating to the sector and the agricultural and industrial excellence of the territory
The first ever biennial event for MAG – The Farmer Fair exhibition of machinery and accessories for agriculture and gardening took place from 13 to 16 March at the Borgo Marene Exhibition Area in Savigliano (CN). Since 2023, the event has gone from being held annually to biennially, and this year's event - the 41st in its history - saw 255 companies on display in an exhibition area spread over 50,000 square meters, attended by 60,000 visitors. With regard to public participation, the organization MAG - Fondazione Ente Manifestazioni di Savigliano, in collaboration with the City of Savigliano - expressed satisfaction with the result obtained, pointing out how the adverse weather conditions (it rained for the entire duration of the event) reduced attendance, which, nevertheless, turned out to be extremely well-informed and specifically interested in purchasing mechanical vehicles. The organizers received positive feedback from exhibitors due to the professional nature of the event, which attracted operators from Italy and abroad, playing an important promotional role for the agricultural machinery sector. The territory that plays host to the Farmer Fair is a heavily agricultural area, with crops grown in the mountains, plains and hills, including high-quality products, and is also home to a sizeable district of manufacturers of machinery for the sector.
The Competition for Technical Innovations was also promoted at MAG 2025, with the award ceremony held at a special event on February 19th. As always, the contest was divided into prizes and honorable mentions given for technical innovation, with five technological solutions being awarded in both categories, which were then displayed at the fair.
Technical Awards were given to Borio srl of Alba (CN) - Newton thinner for fruit; Dragone srl, Black Shire srl of Castagnole delle Lanze (AT) - CR-E 16-2 + RC 3075; Olimac srl of Margarita (CN) - Drago GT corn header with swather; Rocca Albino of Carrù (CN) - Self-leveling for quads; Tdm Total Dairy Management of San Paolo (BS) - Tdm Afimilk Synergy Parallel parlor automatic milking system. There were 15 in-depth meetings held during the event, which addressed various topics, including the various types of innovation in agromechanics, sustainability, climate challenges, safety in agriculture, hazelnut cultivation, aeroponic cultivation, bio-based technologies, as well as the milk supply chain and agroforestry. Andrea Coletti, president of the Fondazione Ente Manifestazioni, having reached the end of his term in office, hopes that by March 2027 – when the next MAG will be held – institutions in the Cuneo area will have seen their way to adopting measures to improve the fairground area, which is no longer suitable for hosting an event that has now grown in size and needs adequate facilities.
