Carraro Agritalia: the new compacts and the hybrid powertrain

The Paduan company presents in Bologna its main innovations on the Compact line: a supercompact model and a specialized one with a very low center of gravity. But all attention is focused on Ibrido, the 105-horsepower tractor powered by an endothermic engine and a electric propeller. There are three driving modes: "traditional", full electric and hybrid

Carraro Group went to the EIMA International appointment with an even richer range of machines, below the main news.

Compact. The series - as its name suggests - is composed of compact machines, with power ranging between 61 and 75 hp, and with Deutz Stage V engines. The Compact V and Compact VLB models, designed for the narrow vineyard and marquee or pergola cultivations stand out in the Carraro stand. The first, the Compact V, is a super compact tractor (its minimum width is equal to just one meter) designed for areas with very high-quality vines in very narrow rows. Its maneuverability at the end of the spin is comparable to the isodiametric one, but with the advantage of a greater traction and a better stability with towed loads. Compact V is equipped with a hydraulic system suitable for highly mechanized crops. On the other hand, Compact VLB is tailored to the needs of the awning, pergola and semi-sole crops. The very low center of gravity, the fenders adjustable according to the radius of the rear wheel, the short wheelbase combined with a careful study of the steering obstructions, all enhance the tractor maneuverability and the precision of the turns at the end of the row.

Hybrid. The Carraro hybrid in Bologna has been awarded the Technical Innovation and the Blue Award (for the most environmentally-friendly innovations), but besides its low emissions and low fuel consumption, it is appreciated also for its new livery captivating design (pearl white roof and rims, bright metallic green bodywork, the Carraro logo chrome-plated and the inscription Ibrido in bright red). From a strictly constructive point of view, Ibrido - for the new 105 Hp Carraro has deliberately chosen an Italian name - has a complex parallel type architecture. The tractor is in fact powered by an endothermic engine and an electric propulsion assisted by a traditional transmission (24+24 synchronized mechanics). The operator can decide whether to work in 100% electric mode (ideal for closed structures, greenhouses, stables or for municipal uses), 100% diesel (for road transfers or without particularly heavy loads) or in hybrid mode for transport with towing and loads and for heavy workings on the PDF. The auxiliary services, on the other hand, are managed by auxiliary electric motors. In short, the Carraro Group Hybrid tractor not only allows you to cut consumption, to zero emissions (in full electric) and to increase productivity, but also to reduce maintenance costs (the endothermic engine is less stressed), to improve crop quality (thanks to lower CO2 emissions) and lower noise and vibration levels.

Agricube IIIB range. The VLB model (Vineyard Large Low) 105 with a Low Profile cab is a specialized one with a low profile for working under a tent with a minimum overall width of 1350 mm. The VL version (Vineyard Large) 115, with cab, has been designed for high-density trellised cultivation, with an overall width of less than 1400 mm and a cabin with the operator compartment width of 1010 mm. Finally, Agricube IIIB F (Orchard) 95 with the cabin has versatility as its main strength. In fact, this is a specialized stable and compact, suitable not only for field work but also for handling and transport operations inside farms.
