The CNH Industrial group is certainly one of the pioneering Italian industrial companies in India. It was 1989 when the CASE Construction Equipment brand began to operate directly on this market, a decision that was based on a previous step: CASE Construction Equipment was already present as a technology supplier and through a joint venture. Then, a decade later - specifically in 1998 - another Group brand - this time New Holland Agriculture - arrived in India. The Greater Noida production plant was founded and the first 70 Hp tractor was introduced, as well as a wide range of mechanical solutions for Indian farmers.

Today CNH Industrial is a well-established reality in the Indian agricultural market, where it operates through two brands - New Holland Agriculture and Case IH - and has three production sites - namely Greater Noida and Pune for the agricultural sector and Pithampur for the construction sector - two spare parts depots, ten training centres and three research and development centres, for a total of 2300 people employed. Of the three R&D centres, two deal with agricultural machinery (they are in Greater Noida and Pune) and the other focuses on construction machines (located in Pithampur).

Moreover, CNH Industrial owns a Technological Centre in Nabha, in Punjab, which represents a point of reference for combine harvesters throughout India.

From what has been said so far it is easy to see the entrepreneurial strategy adopted by the Group to penetrate the Indian market: diversification.

The Group offered many product lines and in different segments, thus becoming a point of reference: in addition to a strong national manufacturing and logistics footprint, CNH Industrial works closely with end customers through more than 1000 contact points, and collaborates also with 450 local suppliers. As for import-export, the machines and components that the CNH Industrial Group produces in Indian plants are mostly absorbed locally.

A smaller share is allocated for export and supplies 80 countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, South America and North America.

As for the company’s main product lines, there are 17 tractor models available, with power ranging from 35 Hp to 90 Hp, presses, forage harvesters, a sugar cane harvesting machine, and the TC5.30 combine. The latter is currently one of the leading products of the Italian brand.
