At Conexpo, one of the most important international exhibitions dedicated to earthmoving technology, held in Las Vegas (USA) from 14 to 18 March, the Carraro Group presented three new drivelines. As the Veneto-based manufacturer - based in Campodarsego, near Padua - explains, these are construction solutions tailored to the specific needs of the North American market. The spotlight is first of all on the driveline for skid steer loaders, which includes rigid front and rear axles of the 48.18M type, a T172/2C hydrostatic transmission and an eTB220 transmission. The driveline for telehandlers, on the other hand, consists of a 46.44M front steer axle, a TCH90 PS torque converter transmission and a 46.37M rear steer axle. For the backhoe loader segment, the Carraro Group offers a construction solution consisting of a 26.22M front steering axle, a TCB80 SPS torque converter transmission, a THE (Transmission Hydrostatic Electric) 260/2 Synchro flanged to an electric or hydraulic motor, and a 28.38M rear rigid axle. Two of the three drivelines are offered in an electrified version complete with inverter and Carraro electronic control unit (ECU). "THE is a modular transmission that sees its mechanical components flanged to an electric/hydrostatic motor. The aim of this technology is to offer OEMs the option of fitting vehicles in both hydrostatic and electric versions without having to change either the chassis or the layout of the driveline". In addition to the modular solutions offered by the Venetian company, the Carraro Group's stand also featured high quality gears and the 'virtual reality room', a virtual space that allows visitors to interact with the technologies and models produced by the Campodarsego-based company.
