With the presentation, held at EIMA International 2018, of the Fiat Centenario Limited Edition range, New Holland celebrates the centenary of the first Fiat tractor coming off the assembly line, the 702 model. Developed during the First World War, the 702 had to overcome the lack of manpower in agriculture and was specifically developed to meet the most diverse needs of farms. It was equipped with a four-cylinder engine, with rear-wheel drive, steering front axle and rigid rear axle, an unusual choice for the time. During these hundred years, Fiat has distinguished itself for innovation and the ability to interpret the evolution of the farmer. This long journey gave birth, among other things, to models 40 and 50 in the post-war period, the Diamond Series in 60s, the 90 Series in the 80s, and the Winner Series in the 90s. The Fiat Centenario prototype, inspired by the 90 Series and created by CNH Industrial’s Design Center, revisits the iconic Fiat tractor range by updating its design with the fluidity of modern lines and an enveloping body reminiscent of the tractor prototype powered by natural gas presented last year, also on show at the EIMA exhibition. The decals on the hood, based on those of the Series 90, link the Fiat tradition to the current New Holland line.

To celebrate this important anniversary, the brand has also created a range of Fiat Centenario Limited Edition tractors, which will have a livery specially designed to evoke elements of the tradition of this prestigious brand. The characteristic terracotta colour, for decades associated with Fiat tractors, has been updated and expressed in a metallic version; the emblem on the bonnet connects today’s New Holland leaf to the traditional terracotta colour; and special decals on the hood and fender evoke the origins of Fiat and Series 90, placing the current tractors into the tradition’s fold.

“With our programme of events and initiatives we want to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fiat and New Holland - declared Carlo Lambro, Brand President of New Holland Agriculture - always on the side of farmers, to help them increase productivity by optimizing resources, thanks to innovative, productive and efficient machines.

We have always worked side by side with our customers, and we will continue to do so, today and always, carrying forward our tradition and projecting agricultural mechanization into the future”. New Holland will celebrate the centenary of Fiat tractors with a programme that started in Bologna and will continue throughout 2019.
