The new 6M tractors from John Deere are on show at Agritechnica, a range of machines designed for power, comfort, compactness and manoeuvring agility. "The 6M tractors - the manufacturer explains with a technical note - replace the 6M, 6MC and 6RC series and include four new four-cylinder models, for a power range of 90 to 120 hp, with a wheelbase of 2.4 metres". Compared to the other models signed by the Deere brand, the 6M tractors are more compact and come with a sloping hood to improve visibility at the front of the machine, while the redesigned panoramic cab roof window offers a wide view for operations involving the loader and in confined spaces. On this John Deere series, manoeuvring agility has also been improved, thanks to a short wheelbase that offers a turning radius of only 4.35 metres. Despite the compact size, the 6Ms are characterized by a good load capacity - up to 4.7 tonnes - made possible by the integrated chassis. The design solutions of the American brand also affected the cab, now brighter and quieter, with a nominal value of just 70 decibels. The most important operational functions have been placed in the right console, which has been redesigned; the models with CommandQuad transmission can optionally be set up with a CommandARM with the functions grouped on the armrest. As the manufacturer points out, 6M tractors see the debut of four mechanical or electrical hydraulic distributors; the switches on the electro-hydraulic joystick are programmable and the reverser can be activated via a button located on the electro-hydraulic or mechanical joystick. Comfort has also been improved thanks to the mechanical suspension of the cab and the TLS front axle (Triple-Link Suspension), while the 360° LED lights are available as an option for lighting during night work. As for the propulsion system, the latest John Deere models are powered by a 4.5 litre John Deere PowerTechTM EWL engine; the 6130M, 6140M and 6145M models are instead equipped with a 4.5 litre John Deere PowerTechTM PSS. The more sturdy machines are powered by six-cylinder PVS engines with 6.8-litre displacement; in the lower power ranges (from the 6090M to 6140M model) the US company has implemented the Intelligent Power Management (IPM) system, which provides 20 additional hp for both PTO and transport operations. The new 6M Series offers three different transmission options: PowrQuad and AutoQuad are four-phase PowerShift transmissions, while CommandQuad Plus offers a fully automatic gear shift and range without the use of a clutch. Thanks to EcoShift, you get a maximum speed of 40 km/h at a reduced engine speed of 1590 rpm. In addition, the AutoClutch function allows the operator to conveniently stop the tractor and restart it simply using the brake pedal. The technological features of the 6Ms is also high-profile, equipped with the latest AMS and FarmSight solutions that include JDLinkTM telematics. Furthermore, the 6M can be equipped with a StarFireTM 6000 satellite receiver and GreenStarTM 4240 or 4640 displays. Depending on the level of precision required when using the AutoTracTM automatic steering, SF3 and RTK signals are available, as well as the free SF1 option.
