Oliver Agro's intelligent weeding machine

Oliver Agro will be presenting its Optyma model in Hanover. This piece of machinery combines automation, technology, and artificial intelligence to provide the utmost weed control starting from the seventh day after transplanting. Its main strong point is a proportional hydraulic system with built-in self-levelling. Linear potentiometers and angular sensors allow Optyma to maintain a constant working depth, reducing stress on the crop and maximizing the results of soil working near the plant. The machine operates through a series of innovative actions: an active weeding motion, which breaks the soil crust to a depth of 2-3 cm and oxygenates the root zone, promoting healthier and more vigorous plants, an artificial intelligence-based recognition system, capable of accurately distinguishing crops from weeds, even in variable light conditions or in poorly prepared soil, and identification of the root zone rather than the leaves, for more stable and accurate recognition, independent of vegetative growth. In addition to Optyma, Oliver Agro is debuting its new precision weeder in Germany the Rotostar 2025, whose strength lies in its hydraulic translation frame. This system makes it possible for the tools to always remain aligned with the row, ensuring constant and precise work even in the most difficult conditions. The working elements are mounted on parallelograms to better follow the profile of the ground, and are a true innovation by Oliver Agro. These are Rotosark steel rotors – they are positioned counter to each other and just 2 cm from the plant for working directly on the row – combined with Rotostar rotors with rubber teeth, also placed counter to each other, which complete the working close to the plant, and rear hoes which finish the operation, leaving the soil clean. The latest innovation is the introduction of a multi-functional hydraulic cylinder capable of lifting the elements during road transport and essential for regulating the pressure on the rotors.
