Two major innovations that Pezzolato, a company based in the Cuneo area, presents in Hanover. The first is the Pth All Road self-propelled drum chipper, which presents technological innovations that are absent from the market. The machine has been designed to be compact, which makes it easy to use even in small manoeuvring spaces. Mobility is maximized by the 4-wheel drive, all steering, which allow three possible steering modes: both axles, discordant or concordant, or just the front axle. The infeed mouth was placed at the bottom to speed up the work both with the material placed in small piles and with the wood collected in large stacks. The Pezzolato closed drum has been designed to guarantee quality chips, both small and large. It is 1400 mm wide, with a weight of about 3500 kg, in sections so as to better distribute the machine’s effort, resulting in a reduction of vibrations, noise and consumption. The chip ejection fan with continuous speed variation allows you to adapt its rate to the actual needs, reducing energy consumption and the production of excessively fine chips. The cabin, which is fully glazed and climate-controlled, is equipped with commands for the complete control of the machine, both for displacement and for chipping, through the two colour 12.1” touchscreen panels. The large size of the panels also enables the single or simultaneous viewing of the images of the two supplied video cameras. The new design of the conveyor allows the material to be unloaded even on vehicles positioned in front of the cab, as well as on the side and behind the engine. The All Road software is optimized so that the operator can move the vehicle around the site without having to stop chipping; it also guarantees the automatic transition from road to work configuration in less than a minute. The second innovation that Pezzolato will present to the German public is the new TLF 45 firewood preparation plant. The peculiarity of the machine is the speed of the cutting cycle, since the disc is equipped with hydraulic actuation. The infeed channel is very large (600 mm), making the machine suitable to process not only single trunks, but also bundles of logs of various diameters and shapes, which do not need to be split, by simply excluding the grid. The splitting phase is very fast thanks to the positioning of the log splitter directly in cascade from the disk, thus eliminating the transfer times of the cut log. By choosing automatic cutting, the split grid moves automatically according to the diameter of the log to be split. From the control station, the operator can manually or automatically select the cutting length, the scrap phase, the split grid, and operate the log loader. The system can be operated from the power take-off, from an autonomous diesel or electric motor, or in combined mode (PTO+electric motor). The particular geometry of the machine allows the operator to have the view and the control of all the work phases without any effort.
