Harvesting, Fantini's new folding headers

One of the leading companies specializing in the manufacture of headers for nearly 60 years (beginning back in 1968), Fantini produces equipment used for grain harvesting. Located in Mantua, three facilities house the company's entirely Made in Italy research, development and production enterprise. Fantini has recently launched its new direct-cut headers for harvesting forage and biomass. The range consists of two patented folding headers (DCH1) and two fixed ones (DC01). The DCH1, showcased at the Lombardy-based company’s stand at Fieragricola, makes work faster by eliminating the need for a tractor, trailer and support personnel for coupling and assistance during transfers. Fantini says that it is one of the first direct-cut headers for harvesting various crops, even extremely tall or lodged crops, and for producing forage for storage or biogas production. The header is equipped with a 900 mm diameter floating auger and a special pitch spiral, a main belt drive with five grooves for maximum safety in use and two large height-adjustable Hardox steel skids. It is already available on the market in two sizes: 5.2 meters (weight of approx. 33 quintals) and 6.1 meters (approximately 37 quintals) and can be customized to the colors of the harvester on which it will operate. The DC01 fixed headers share these measurements (5.2 and 6.1 meters), offering high cutting speed even in the presence of lodged crops. The fixed headers share the same basic features as the folding ones: 900 mm diameter floating auger, spiral, main belt drive with five grooves and two large Hardox skids. Added to these is the quick PTO attachment for Claas and John Deere forage harvesters and the option of a traditional or tilting trailer.
