With developments in IT and electronic systems steadily advancing in capabilities for boosting crop yields in quantity and quality and, on the other hand, lowering costs and work time, precision farming is certain to become more central in the primary sector in the coming years as is agricultural mechanization. However enterprises specializing in electronics for agriculture are not always able to provide agricultural machinery manufacturers complete and customized technological solutions in that sometimes they cannot provide actuator devices. Precisely for this reason, from actuators to HMI (Human Machine Interface), Roj in Biella specialized in designing high tech electronic devices has consistently aimed for the production of complete mecatronic units customized in relation to specific applications required by OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers). One of the most innovative solutions Roj has come up with is replacing mechanical and hydraulic transmissions with brushless electric motors. These motors ensure low impact on the environment thanks to which machinery benefits in flexibility and dynamic operation otherwise not attainable. On the other hand, the manufacturer is convinced that this system will become the propulsion of the future not only for small mechanical movement but also for the more substantial loads now moved by hydraulic motors requiring considerable power. To meet this challenge, Roj is responding with a range of devices run off high tension expressively created for demanding operations by heavy vehicles – a line of products designed to make the primary sector still more efficient and productive and accessible to big industry as well as small and medium size firms.
