After several years of planning and construction, the new production facility of Seppi M, a company from Caldaro (Bolzano) specialising in the manufacture of shredders, cutters and stone crushers, was completed last February. The creation of the new facility, for which the industrial area of Mezzolombardo (Trento) was chosen, became necessary following the strong business expansion that the South Tyrolean company recorded since 2012. "In the last 10 years we have tripled our business volume, which is why the current plant in Caldaro was no longer able to meet our needs," explained Lorenz Seppi, chairman of the board of directors of the company. Lorenz Seppi also clarified the reasons for the company's decision to focus on the town in Trentino. "We were looking for a site compatible with further expansion of our business. Mezzolombardo - added the chairman of the Seppi M board of directors - proved to be a strategic location from the point of view of road connections. In addition, the municipality and the province of Trento were in favour of the location and supported the project. The construction of the new plant has also had a positive impact on the urban landscape of Mezzolombardo, as it has made it possible to redevelop a degraded area where the disused facilities of a textile factory were located. The old buildings were demolished and new ones built in their place, complying with the most advanced environmental and safety standards. Covering an area of more than 25,000 square metres, including production areas, a goods warehouse, an administrative building and a showroom, the Mezzolombardo factory is also more energy sustainable, thanks to a photovoltaic system that makes it less dependent on external supplies.
