CBM, innovative technologies for the rear tractor

At EIMA International, CBM of Modena showcases a new mechanical and electronic safety system featuring two pins for its Pick-Up Hitch: when the mechanism is closed, they prevent the sliding lower frame from accidentally disengaging.

Another device informs the operator via an electronic panel in the cab if the pickup is properly closed and locked. Among the other novelties presented by the Modenese company at the great exhibition of agricultural mechanics, the new version of the Automatic Lower Hook, called T-Lock, stands out. This has allowed CBM to improve performance and safety even more during the attachment of implements. To open the hook, the operator only has to lift and turn the opening lever counterclockwise.

Thanks to its particular shape, it locks on the hook body and remains in the open position; to close the hook, simply lift the lever turn it clockwise. The T-Lock technology - introduced on Cat.1, 2S, 2, 3S, 3, 3HD, four models - also reduces assembly and disassembly times and hence maintenance. At the CBM stand, the spotlight will also be on the Shock Absorbing System, designed to implement the ISO 'z' (ex Cuna D3) towbar performance and solve the problem of excessive play between the eye and the pin, as required by ISO 5692-3 and ISO 6489-5.

The mechanism, designed for all ISO 'z' with dynamic homologation and operating speeds above 40 km/h, progressively absorbs impacts between the trailer and the tractor employing a "shock absorption system" made of a unique material that dissipates the energy generated by the play between the pin and the big eye. As the tractor brakes or slows down, the system limits the impact of the big eye against the hitch, thereby eliminating vibrations and shocks that generally occur with ISO 'z' towbars.
