Safety, functionality and simplicity in use are the winning features which have always distinguished the tow hooks built by the CBM Group based in Modena, components designed for top-flight performance also for travel on public roads at speeds greater than 40 km/hour. The basic common denominator for the CBM automatic hooks is the dual safety system to counter accidental unhitching which kicks in when the tow pin reaches a position below hitching. The hook handle can be operated with one hand allowing the user to quickly position the hook and secure it at the desired height. Other than the HDPlus,

version, tested for resistance at the transport D-value of 120.9 kN and an S vertical load of two tons, the CBM range includes the new Slider Automatic Tow Hook which fully complies with the DIN standard.

In a technical note, the manufacturer said the new component is for trailers with special 50 mm drawbar eyes, DIN 74053 – Ø50, for heavy transport at speeds of beyond 40 km/hour. Also among the various solutions marketed by CBM to be reported are the ball hitch systems for towing with Ø80 balls and Ø50 lateral balls. Also provided for the the CBM Support Slider with a Ø80 ball is the HDPlus version.

Designed to facilitate and improve control of the steering systems of multi-axle trailers in accordance with the norms, this device is ideal for travel on public roads.

This version is also tested for resistance at the transport D-value of 120.9 kN and an S vertical load of four tons at speeds greater than 40 k/hour.
