The exhibition of Agritechnica 2013, at the Hannover Trade Fair from 12 to 16 November (opening times from 9 to 18) will have a two days preview – on 10 and 11 November – devoted to traders, investors and specialist press.

The big German exhibition will host this year more than 2,700 exhibitors, with 53% of visitors from abroad on behalf of 50 countries, organized on a total surface area of 410,000 square meters.

The exhibition attracted in its last edition – held in 2011 – 419,000 visitors, with 98,000 visitors from abroad. The biannual international trade fair of agricultural mechanization, organized by DLG (the German Society for Agriculture) since 1985, sponsors the following product groups: tractors, transport vehicles, machinery and equipment for agriculture; sowing, precision sowing and mechanical weeding; fertilizers, protected cultivations; irrigation and drainage; corn seeds harvesting (including corn and rapeseed); forage harvesting; tuberose and beet sugar harvesting; first step of the manufacturing process; conservation and storage; special cultivations (vegetables, fruit, horticulture and viticulture); forestry applications; precision farming; organic agriculture and bioenergies. And still much more: used machinery, specialist software services, municipal systems and services, spare parts and automotive accessories.

To this last product group, in the recent years the German exhibition dedicated the Salon Systems & Components, hosted in Pavillion 1. This dedicated salon can host about 700 exhibitors organized in several areas: engines, oleodynamics, axles, gearboxes, powertrains, electronics, cabins and spare parts. S&C has also a lounge for the meetings with exhibitors and workers in dedicated areas. One of the latest events of this edition at the dedicated salon is "Agricultural Machinery in Detail" consisting in the alive tractor's dismantling with a simultaneous presentation of the trends of some dismantled parts. "Match & Meet" is an international forum for creating new business opportunities. A wide range of meetings will be held at the fair trade's Convention Centre.

The series of conferences dedicated to the international agro-mechanical sector is worth mentioning, with a follow-up meeting on increasing markets in China, India, Kazakhstan, Russia and South Africa. Agritechnica will then dedicate a focus on rise production with innovative technologies specific for this sector. International experts will be available for information on water resource management, land preparation, plant protection and harvesting of this important cultivation. Another new initiative developed for this edition of Agritechnica is Smart Farming (Pav. N.17), with the involvement of DLG Test Center Technology & Farms Inputs, in cooperation with enterprises and research.

This event will illustrate the changes in agricultural machinery production with the purpose to improve a production respectful of the environment and the use of information technology applied to agricultural mechanization in management, maintenance and reparation of vehicles. Officina Live Arena, sponsored by Agritechnica in pav. 2, will have the ambition to give visibility to this important sector with presentations and specific forums dedicated to agro engineers, technicians and students.

One of the main goals of this initiative is to communicate to young generations the professional potential offered by agromechanics in terms of jobs, carreers and professional satisfaction. More than 350 Italian manufacturers will attend Agritechnica, with the participation of the Italian Federation of machinery manufacturers for agriculture hosted in a wide institutional area at pav. 7 (Stand D16).

This area will be at members' disposal for assistance and services with a meeting area used by enterprises and businesspeople. In the FederUnacoma Stand will be available the last number of the federative magazine Mondo Macchina/Machinery World. The magazine will be distributed during the fair trade. At last, Agritechnica will dedicate a follow-up event at Pavillion N.32 to Rudolf Diesel, on the centenary of his death. Diesel was the German inventor of the engine named after him, today widely used in agriculture.
