The Sfoggia Agriculture Division has further improved their products by adopting high quality components and finishing with an eye on the manufacturer’s payoff based on “quality, performance and comfort”. The company is now equipping all machinery only with SKF bearings and Koyo bearings on Sigma 5, Sigma Hws and Discover precision pneumatic planters. All metal parts are given cataforesis treatment before being getting a powder coat paint finish. All the fasteners, screws, screw accessories and small components are from Würth and Walterscheid supplies the cardan shafts. This is the philosophy backing the company’s products Sfoggia is bringing to Fieragricola for presentation. One of them is the small-seed Calibra vacuum precision planter for planting tiny seed vegetables and sugar-beet in greenhouses and in open fields. The machine is also capable of burying heavy seeds with great precision as well as larger seeds beyond the standard caliber. The power of the Calibra vacuum and new air distribution system, compared to the previous version, makes it possible to lower tractor rps by up to 30% without compromising the precision of planting to guarantee reduced fuel consumption and the noise level. The sowing disc seal has been improved as well to provide a 50% lower coefficient of wear compared to the earlier version. The Calabra planters are marketed in various versions, the Slim for narrow inter-row distances, the Single Line, the Twin with double sowing line, the Tris with triple sowing line and the Tandem with two sowing bodies and with fixed frame and hydraulic folding frame. New technical solutions have also been brought in for transplanters with special attention trained on safety rules and comfort, the addition of an umbrella for example. An innovative electronic system, the Elektra Drive System, facilitates the work of the operator thanks to a modern management control device. Then there is the Leonardo, a strip tiller for preparing a strip of soil for seeding. The Leonardo is available in 4 to 12 row operations with regulation of the distances between rows from 45 to 80 cm, a fixed and hydraulic frame and a host of advantages. These include disc opening of the furrow with the Turbo version or toothed, adjustable tiller shank up to 25 cm and a nitrogen cylinder to facilitate planting under pressure. It is also possible to equip the machine with a fertilizer spreader for depositing fertilizer in the furrow being worked.
