Agrilevante Contest: machines for Mediterranean agriculture

The eighth edition of Agrilevante's "Technical Innovation" competition, held as part of the Bari trade fair, has a new look this year. The prestigious event has in fact been renamed the "Agrilevante - Machinery for Mediterranean Agriculture" competition and divided into two distinct sections: one dedicated to agricultural processing technologies and one to machinery and equipment for greenery maintenance. The initiative's name and format have changed, but its goals remain the same. The aim to promote innovative products offered by the agricultural machinery industry for new and traditional supply chains in the primary sector, and for the gardening sector, is still central for the Contest; the specific reference to the Mediterranean region comes in addition. In the section relating to agricultural machinery, the panel of experts specially convened to evaluate the various models presented by the manufacturers awarded eight solutions deemed highly innovative. In addition to the Tony 8900 TRG Basso tractor for orchards and vineyards, particularly suited for working under the canopy and in low rows, other standouts include the Landini REX 4 Energy tractor for use in intensive olive groves, as well as orchards and vineyards; the ultrasonic fertilizer spreader for vineyards designed by Eurospand to deliver the fertilizer only close to the plants; the Newport Trio articulated over-the-row sprayer by Martignani, which stands out for its significantly reduced overall dimensions; and the HY1300 Agri autonomous electric-powered agricultural rover by Clor Industry. The award-winning models also include the Dondi Olea 2 Pro tool carrier for bilateral inter-row work, which stands out for its technical solutions; the Roter Italia STF Pro mounted mulcher, able to lay organic film; and the Seppi M. R20 Pick Up CL mulcher, designed to be paired with compact loaders, which maximizes processing productivity because it is not necessary to separate the finest prunings from the rest. In the green care section, the Husqvarna P524XR EFI ride-on lawn tractor stands out. It can be operated by remote control or with an operator on board, and is capable of working even on steep slopes.
