Annovi Reverberi's special treatments

Wear, corrosion, chemical attack: diaphragm pumps can be compromised by various factors. And this is why over the years Annovi Reverberi has developed several solutions to ensure quality and resistance of agricultural pumps, primarily those intended to come into contact with aggressive materials such as liquid fertilizers.

Among the special treatments designed to improve pump performance, the Modena-based company offers membranes made of Blueflex, a patented material that is extremely resistant to non-oily chemicals in a wide range of pH, with chemical and mechanical resistance superior to Viton membranes.

And the use of AISI316 stainless steel, which, being characterized by low carbon content and high molybdenum levels compared to standard AISI303/304, has increased corrosion resistance.

To these Annovi Reverberi adds cataphoresis treatment on die-cast aluminum parts. This involves electrodeposition of special paints under immersion with direct electric current. Coating thickness ranges from 12 to 18 microns. Cataphoresis coating offers excellent resistance to salt spray testing and is very often used in the automotive industry as an anticorrosive primer.

In medium pressure to improve mechanical strength, it was decided to develop in the last year the special MP series in glass-fiber reinforced nylon.

For high-pressure pumps in addition to the use of anodized aluminum, plasticized aluminum, and brass, two new options were created: - die-cast aluminum with cataphoresis coating increasing corrosion resistance; - aluminum with PLUS treatment, a patented sealant that provides a barrier against external chemicals allowing extreme resistance in salt spray and surface hardness of the oxide layer.

Anodizing is performed on aluminum die-cast parts where the AL203 oxide layer is 0.01 mm thick with hardness from 450 to 600HV. Nanotubes, characteristic of the oxide layer, allow even minimal contact between the metal substrate and the corrosive chemical.

As the patented PLUS sealant penetrates the nanotubes and solidifies, it creates a barrier against chemicals on aluminum parts in contact with the chemicals to be applied. Anodic oxidation PLUS has demonstrated extreme strength and surface hardness of the oxide layer.

After 500 hours of continuous durability testing, a die-cast aluminum flange with standard anodizing and a flange with PLUS anodizing show almost no surface oxidation.

Finally, brass and bronze are excellent materials for use in the manufacture of pump heads and manifolds where there is a need to handle abrasive suspended powders.
