Comer Industries: integrated components for mixer trucks

In the Comer Industries areas at Eima International the focus is on advanced solutions for towed mixer trucks, that is to say component "packages" comprising the A-613 parallel axle unit with electric actuator and means of integration with the ISOBUS system, and the new series of PGA-2100 VM epicycloid gear motors. The former of these, that is to say the A-613 unit, which has gear engaged position sensors and electric actuator commanding the speed change, is equipped with a low-noise powertrain; an internal pre-loading mechanism that allows gear change and automatic re-engagement; and a two or three position electric actuator (for "idle"). Suitable for two and three screw trucks, with capacities starting from 30 m³, the A-613 unit is set up for connection to a pump and is available with speed ratios of 1:1/1.8:1 and 1:1/1.5:1, with a transmitted power of 180 CV at 540 rpm.

The A-613 gearbox falls within the Mix@tractor project, developed by IDEAgri (a network of businesses in the Reggio Emilia area, of which Comer Industries is a member, that produce integrated ISOBUS standard systems). The system proposed - according to a technical note issued by the manufacturer - promotes the use of an innovative hardware/software platform for coordinated management of the tractor and implement functions during Unifeed mixing phases.

Thanks to the use of the electric gear change actuator system and implementation of an ISOBUS torque measurement sensor, the IDEAgri solution enables power absorption to be read and monitored, automating gear change phases according to the progress of the mixing operation. This results in a cycle that is optimised both in terms of fuel consumption, emissions, noise pollution, safety and the duration of operations, without requiring specific knowledge or skills on the part of the operator.

The PGA 2100 epicyclic gear chains are used to drive the mixer trucks with a continuous torque of 2,100 daNm and peak torques of up to 4,700 daNm. They are compact, high performance components, capable of offering significantly higher loading capacity and torque transmission than the current series 1600, with the same working dimensions, as well as greater reliability and higher levels of overload resistance.
