HyperCompact: Merlo looks to the future
In line with the key Touch Smart Efficiency theme of the 2025 edition of Agritechnica, Merlo comes to Hanover with a focus on efficiency, digital connectivity and sustainability in agriculture. In addition to the compact Cingo, the fully electric e-Worker forklifts and the well-known and impressive Multifarmer, the company from San Defendente di Cervasca (Cuneo) is debuting some new strategic products. First in line is the HyperCompact telescopic handler concept developed in the Piedmont factories and designed to work in small spaces, such as farms, poultry and pig farms or riding stables. This is a compact, agile and highly functional vehicle which has the advantage of being easily transported on a road trailer. The vehicle is small in size but capable of offering the operating the comfort typical of telescopic handlers 'made in Cuneo'. The model that will be on display in Germany offers a load capacity of 1,500 kg and a maximum lifting height of 5 meters. Its compact size allows it to offer considerable maneuverability, even in areas with difficult access, while its ability to be equipped with various accessories makes it a multi-functional machine suitable for multiple applications. Agritechnica will also be the occasion to unveil the newly revamped medium-capacity Turbofarmers, which will be available on the market in the first half of 2026. The upgrade will significantly affect several components of this vehicle, still among the most appreciated by agricultural operators today, such as the design of the mudguards, the silent-block system of the cab, its accessibility and above all operational visibility among the best in the category. In addition, a new telescopic arm concept will be presented for these models, developed to maximize the vehicle's performance. Also on display at Agritechnica is the MerloMobility digital platform, currently installed across the entire range and active on over 10,000 connected vehicles worldwide. Among the most popular features of the App are remote diagnostics, real-time sensor reading, remote engine inhibition, geofencing, error reporting with relative description, consumption report and geolocation of the vehicle status. Finally, another significant innovation from Merlo is its intelligent camera system that detects the presence of people around the work vehicle and automatically acts to prevent accidents.
