New Series R put to field trial
The new Series R with a 99 Hp engine is up for a warm welcome at the debut of the articulated isodiametric reversible tractor at Enovitis 2017 for the specialist's great maneuverability and comfort for the driver
Antonio Carraro is launching the new Series R tractors at Enovitis in Campo 2017, an isodiametric specialist which conforms to Stage 3B. The range, all equipped with a 99 Hp engine, extends to five models, 10900: TRX, TRG, TGF, TTR and the SRX, the version tapped for the field trials in Cavaion Veronese. Though the Stage 3B engines are equipped with diesel particulate filters, the Series R tractors maintain the compact size and dimensions of their predecessors. Except for the TGF, with unequal front/rear wheels, the other four versions feature reversible drive and the ACTIO™, full chassis with oscillation with a central articulated joint which allows longitudinal oscillation up to 15°; a system which optimizes the wheelbase of the new Series R to improve the distribution of the tractor’s weight equipped with implements to ensure trailing capability.
The new SRX 10900 is a reversible isodiametric articulated tractor with a minimum wheelbase width of 1060 mm but the narrow configuration this model provides the same perception of space and visibility of the steering wheels versions. Driving is enhanced in small spaces between rows and when turning headlands thanks to the articulated chassis. The Stage 3B Kubota 4 cylinder turbo engine turning out 99 Hp is eco-friendly and runs with minimum noise and is coupled to a 16+16 transmission with synchronized reverser. The engine is Common Rail high pressure direct injection with electronic control. The new Series R transmission, strengthened in size and quality of components for handling power overloads, and the 32 speed gear box, 16 forward and 16 reverse, comes with a synchronised inverter enabling the drive direction to be inverted even when the tractor is in motion. The progressive engagement electrohydraulic PTO series 540/540E/540S/1000 equipped with a reverser safety device; the differential lock of front axle and rear axles or only rear, is also electrohydraulic controlled.
The cab features a spherically curved, simple and essential design. Thanks to its airtight seals, integrated hinges and no projecting parts the cab and can penetrate the narrowest rows without damaging flowering plants or fruit. The front and rear windows offer full visibility of equipment and the roadway. The driver’s seat platform is mounted on silent block and the central tunnel is coated with plastic sound-proofing material. The reversible drive system, RGS™, is a revolving turret to change direction for operating trailed or front mounted implements and the controls and drive arrangement remain the same in both directions of operation. The controls are arranged in a logical sequence and all the tractor functions can be visualized on the panel behind a anti-reflection screen. One of them is the cruise control for the electronic control of speed and PTO rpm with two memorized settings. The Multicontroller Joystick displays state-of-the-art ergonomics and maximum flexibility for the operator. The console, located next the right armrest, contains all the buttons in a logical sequence for operating the hydraulics powered by the rear hydraulic plant.The AIR cab is equipped with type-approved ROPS and FOPS (Falling Object Protection System) and Category 4 pressurization for top of the line comfort, total visibility and luminosity. The overall design includes a heating system and integrated air conditioning for controlling the climate inside.
