Tractors Tony V: versatile and agile in its manoeuvres

Antonio Carraro has extended its range of specialised tractors with the Tony V series of hydrostatic tractors. This is a line of conventional-frame, one-way and cab tractors that made a name for itself at the Tractor of the Year 2021 competition, reaching the finals. There are two models that make up the V series: the 75-horsepower Tony 8700 V (with maximum torque of 375 Nm at 1400 rpm) and the 110-horsepower Tony 11700 V (with maximum torque of 420 Nm at 1600 rpm), both powered by a Deutz, direct-injection, common-rail turbo intercooled 4-cylinder, 16-valve 2924 cc diesel engine. Compact (the minimum width is just 980 mm) and agile, designed for row operations - especially for precision work - the two Tony V tractors feature a hydraulic system equipped with mechanical gear pumps and a variable hydraulic piston pump with load-sensing management and a pipe circuit with an enlarged cross-section that reduces pressure losses to work at low speed with high hydraulic flow rates. This construction solution, as the Padua-based manufacturer (Antonio Carraro is based in Campodarsego) points out, is particularly beneficial because it cuts fuel consumption. The hydraulic flow of the system, which offers up to 9 independent electronic double-acting distributors (4 front and 5 ventral), reaches 137 l/min. Another strong point of the Tony V is the AIR V cab located on a wide silent-block suspended platform. The low centre of gravity and minimal central tunnel - explains Antonio Carraro in a note - allow the operator easy access to the cab and a comfortable, anti-fatigue position. When working, the view of the rear implement gives the driver the feeling of being positioned "above" the implement itself. In addition, the spacious, pressurised 4-post cab in category 2 or 4 features an automatic climate control system that can be controlled from the digital display on the driver's console.
