Salvarani presents PRE-SENSE ONE, a new capacitive sensor for manual controls, in Hannover. This device was designed by technicians at the Poviglio (Reggio Emilia) company to be integrated into joysticks and manual controls, offering a safer solution than traditional on/off systems. In fact, unlike traditional switches, Salvarani introduces a programmable system with activation and release delays, which prevents accidental starts due to involuntary contacts or unintentional stops, such as in the case of a momentary release of the hand from the controls.
Using capacitive technology the sensor continuously detects the presence of the hand (even if the operator is wearing gloves) and automatically adapts to use. The new sensor designed by Salvarani is based on a flexible printed circuit board (PCB) with 3M double-sided tape, which makes installation easier, and is coated with a tropicalized paint that protects it from external agents. This feature allows the sensor to be used in particularly harsh environments. Compared to the basic version, PRE-SENSE ONE can be implemented with customizable outputs, acoustic, visual or vibration alarms to provide immediate feedback to the operator.
