The performance of the Juwel 10 plough

by Giacomo Di Paola
October - November 2022 | Back

It is called Juwel 10 and is a reversible plough that can be equipped with up to 7 elements. It is made by the German company Lemken, active in the manufacture of tillage equipment. The new plough from Lemken, which makes its debut at EIMA 2022, is a machine designed to offer top performance in the most difficult operating conditions and to work in conjunction with high-end tractors. In the seven-element configuration - explains the German manufacturer, the plough's demand can reach up to 450 horsepower with a performance comparable to that of a semi-mounted implement. Moreover, the specifications of the frame (160x160 millimetres), the axle (130 millimetres, turnover) and the coupling points for the upper and lower linkages (they are arranged on the frame) have been designed precisely to adapt to the heaviest operations. Furthermore, the plough head is equipped with a damping cylinder that reduces the load on the tractor and protects the unit's components, even when travelling on the road. Still on the subject of transport, it is important to note that there is no need to decouple the upper section from the lower section, which is of great benefit to the safety of the operator who does not have to move mechanical parts between the equipment and the tractor. On the Juwel 10, Lemken has also included a special version, the OF set-up (it always maintains an adequate distance from the edge of the furrow), designed specifically for crawler tractors or tractors with wide tyres, and a hydraulic adjustment and working angle memory system (it can be operated directly from the tractor cab). Lastly, it should be noted that the new plough offered by the German company can be combined with the FlexPack furrow press (automatically adapts to the width of the plough) for soil reconsolidation.
