Lemken Onyx, the subsoiler for deep tillage
Soil Scultivation is Lemken's core business, and the company is expanding its range of equipment with a new subsoiler, the Onyx, capable of working up to a maximum depth of 60 cm. According to the German brand's technicians, it is robust, versatile, and easy to use. The latest addition to the Lemken range comes in two rigid versions, the 3-meter-wide MR/300 and the 4-meter-wide MR/400, and features a stable and durable welded frame. The clearance under the frame is 90 cm which provides lots of space even at great depths, while the two-spaced beam structure makes tool maintenance easy. The Onyx is offered on the market with two types of tines spaced 42.5 cm apart. The first type, OM (Onyx Mixing), mixes and levels the soil, improving its structure, and is intended for intermediate tillage (25-40 cm). The second type, OL (Onyx Loosening), breaks down compact layers like the plow sole, helping with water infiltration and is designed for deep tillage (40-60 cm). Both versions feature hydraulic depth adjustment and are capable of working well even on the toughest terrain thanks to the special coating on the tines: with anti-wear coating (standard) and carbide (optional). It is also possible to equip both OM and OL with lateral fins for more uniform tillage and better burying of organic residues. On the roller front, Lemken presents two specific offerings: DSW 580 double punch and RSW 600 tubular bar press. The quick-change system make it possible to quickly switch from one roller to another depending on the terrain being worked. The first new Onyx subsoiler models will be available in a limited number of units starting in spring 2026.
