Tornado, a reliable and ergonomic leaf vacuum

Tornado is the name of a compact high-power leaf vacuum, compatible not only with materials such as leaves and grass, but with other types of small residue. Developed by Negri from Mantua - the headquaters are in Campitello Marcaria, not far from the capital city - for cleaning large areas such as parks, public gardens, sports fields, the Tornado model is equipped with a pipe (200 mm diameter, 6 metres in length) that combines reliability (it is particularly wear-resistant) and ergonomics (it is very lightweight). The suction system is composed of a fan with a diameter of 390 mm driven by a combustion engine or by a tractor PTO; the number of blades changes depending on the power of the engine and is between a minimum of three for the 9 Hp version and a maximum of eight for the 21 Hp and tractor version. The internal parts of the machine, those most subject to wear and abrasion, can be replaced by the operator easily and quickly, thus avoiding possible damage to the machine body. The transmission varies depending on the type of actuation: it is composed of two belts and a centrifugal clutch in the case of motorized models, and by two belts and a multiplier group in the case of vacuums connected to the PTO. “The Tornado vacuum - explains the manufacturer with a technical note - can be applied to the sides of trucks or pick-ups; the material is unloaded directly into the bed through a revolving pipe equipped with a swivelling deflector. To facilitate loading and unloading the machine from the sides of vehicles, the leaf vacuum is equipped with a folding positioning support that provides maximum operator safety. Of course, we also offer a model with road trailer approved for 80 km/h, available with a steering wheel, fixed or adjustable in height.”
