UML/S/DT, the versatile mulcher by FAE

November 2017 | Back

The latest addition to FAE’s range is called UML/S/DT, a forestry mulcher with fixed tool rotor for tractors from 130 to 190 Hp, characterized by an innovative design, top performance and high quality construction materials. Designed as an intermediate model between the small UML/DT (with a power demand of 80 to 130 horsepower) and the sturdier UMM/DT (power class 160 to 240 horsepower), the new FAE product is equipped with Spike interchangeable blades, designed to achieve ever finer shredding, and with the branch feller with ripper teeth that helps align the trees to be shredded. This is an advantageous solution because it allows to rake the felled trees, thus optimizing the final shredding process. Versatility is one of the strengths of UML/S/DT, which can handle plants with a maximum diameter of 25 cm. The mulcher designed by the Trentino company offers the operator two different systems - “z” and “w” - to adjust the parallelism between gear box and shaft drive, thus adapting to the most diverse working needs. In addition to the shaft drive with torque limiter and the free wheel gear box, the standard equipment includes hydraulic adjustment hood, central lubrication system, hydraulic hoses integrated in the chassis, and belt drive transmissions in XPB. Then there are the interchangeable screwed counter blades, the screwed protection chains, and the FCP anti-wear plate. The power demand starts at a minimum of 130 horsepower, reaching a maximum of 190. The working width is between 2.07 metres for the UML/S/DT 200 model and 2.3 for the UML/S/DT 225 model.
