BCS motor mowers, at the forefront of safety

With the PowerSafe range’s models, equipped with an oil bath multi-disc hydraulic clutch (a technology that has been used on BCS two-wheel tractors since 2009), the firm of Abbiategrasso (Milan) is anticipating the entry into force of the EU regulations on motor mower safety to offer the market even higher standards in terms of reliability, comfort, and performance. There is much innovative content characterizing the PowerSafe line, starting from the machinery’s automatic stop device when the operator releases the handles (the motor mower does not stop, as well as the engine, which therefore must not be restarted).  Also, the system regulating the motor mower’s motion speed according to that of the user (less than eight kilometers per hour) and the “gear lock” technology that prevents the direct passage from forward to reverse. Provide top comfort, a softer clutch actuation device with greater resistance to wear (the distance between the clutch lever and the knob does not change with the passage of time) and the brake’s safety lever requiring a pressure of less than 20 Newton, therefore ideal for prolonged work sessions. “With the introduction of the PowerSafe hydraulic clutch - Andrea Negro, head of communication and image of the company from Milan, told Mondo Macchina - our single-axle mowers make a further qualitative leap not only in terms of safety but also in terms of performance, reliability and operating comfort”. Presented for the first time during the 2018 edition of EIMA International, relaunched a year later on the occasion of Agrilevante and Fieragricola, the line comprises a total of more than 30 models, including diesel and petrol, also with hydrostatic transmission (at the top of the range 635 HY and 660 HY WS). Powersafe motor mowers are marketed all over the world, while the Max series versions with a self-ventilating conical clutch will continue to be distributed only in non-EU countries. All machinery is designed, manufactured and assembled in the Abbiategrasso plant because - as explained by the BCS communication manager - the company wants to have full control and full management of every single phase of the production process, from the gear to the coating. This is what BCS calls total quality strategy. It is, therefore, no coincidence that the manufacturer would provide a 5-year warranty on the entire PowerSafe clutch unit of the motor mowers. «Still with a view to total quality - added Negro - we have focused only and exclusively on top highly reliable Stage V engines: Honda and Briggs & Stratton engines for the petrol versions, and Yanmars and Kohlers for the diesel versions”. In short, at BCS the European standards on the safety of motor mowers are already a reality.
