High sustainability of Falc's forage harvesters

Falc, a company from Faenza (Ravenna), will present three new products at Agritechnica. We begin with the T-WIN mulching shredder, specifically designed for use in vineyards and to be combined with tractors with power ranging from 50 to 70 horsepower. The machine is available in different working widths, starting from 1.20 up to 1.80 centimeters, and with weights ranging from 480 to 640 kilograms. The shredded material, conveyed near the edges of the inter-rows, is unloaded on the right and left sides of the machine by means of two low, rounded conveyors. This solution, as the Romagna manufacturer points out, is particularly effective because it preserves the vine's foliage and fruiting system. But mulching under the rows is also very advantageous because, in addition to performing a fertilizing function (linked to the type of material mulched), it creates a microclimate that improves the humidity of the plant roots and limits the development of weeds by covering the soil with organic waste. Under the spotlight of the Falc stand, visitors to the German fair can also see the STRIP-TILL rotary tiller, which combines the benefits of conventional agriculture with the advantages of no-tillage, working only on the part of the soil that needs to contain the row of seeds. According to the Ravenna-based company, the unworked portion of soil can reach up to 70% of the total, depending on the width of the rows. Unworked areas help prevent erosion, compaction and preserve soil moisture. STRIP-TILL is available in various sections and row lengths and can work at a depth of between 15 and 25 centimeters. Finally, among other new Falc products, worth mentioning is its range of BIO rotary tillers, available in sizes from 2.5 to 7 meters, which can be combined with tractors with power ratings from 100 to 400 horsepower. The Bio rotary tillers are all equipped with the Teminator rotor, which eliminates weeds and crop residues without the use of chemical herbicides.
