“Innovation and technology have always been an important DNA components in Faresin Industries. This has allowed us to overcome the economic conditions of recent years to reach important objectives. On the strength of this experience, we decided to invest in such highly technological components as NIR and with this project we have the ambition to improve the well being of people and animals through the quality of their food,” declared Faresin Industries Chairman Sante Faresin welcoming the launch of ITPhotonics. This startup is going to work on developing and marketing near infrared spectroscopic instruments for chemical and nutritional analyses. The enterprise was created by Faresin Industries working with University of Padua researchers. The first instrument built by ITPhotonics, for the primary sector and especially for Unifeed rations, will be presented in Paris at the upcoming SIMA Agricultural Business Show later this month. This instrument, poliSPECNIR Feed (near infrared spectroscopy) is portable and easy to transport and once mounted on a mixer wagon is capable of performing real time analyses of the various agricultural products during loading for measuring the composition of the humidity, raw protein, lipids, fiber and ash nutritional components. On the basis of this data produced in real time, rather than requiring laboratory analyses of samples, the operator can control the contents of the rations for achieving optimum nutrition content. The poliSPECNIR Feed software, in fact, also signals the end-user on the best moment when the feed mix is the most uniform and provides information on when the most uniform distribution is achieved in the feeding troughs. Sante Faresin said, “This partnership will give us important opportunities in the livestock and agricultural sector, in which we are already welcomed for the Faresin machines, for allowing us to give technological drive to the supply chain and open a new scenario to expand our growth in the industrial and medical areas.” Other than the poliSPECNIR Feed, ITPhotonics is relying on three more models. The poliSPECNIR Agriculture is another portable battery powered device with Wi-Fi communication for direct matrix calculation analyses of interest to definitively eliminate the sampling phase and waiting time. With poliSPECNIR Agriculture software the operator can select the acquisition mode according to the product of interest and manage the results on a database compatible with any work platform. The poliSPECNIR BioGas is an instrument designed for measuring biogas plants by integrating the various phases of the digestion process to produce not only information on the properties of all the components of the mix of materials but also allowing a real time calculation of the biogas methane potential. Moreover, thanks to the special calibration curve, the poliSPECNIR BioGas can perform online analyses of the work phases of long digestion. And finally, the poliSPEC- NIR Seeds makes it possible to immediately analyze in any location oilseed cereal kernals without first taking a sample of the harvest and grinding it. The multi-point mode for acquiring the analysis makes the instrument suitable for any type of product and guarantees an extremely accurate analysis representative of the entire lot.
