On one side, technology and digital solutions serving agriculture; on the other, aesthetics and design resulting from the internal Styling Center, featuring the Red Spirit setup: metallic red livery and black rims. This is how McCormick presents itself at Agritechnica, where it will debut the Clever Cab, designed for high-end X7.6 and X8 tractors, as an absolute novelty.

McCormick Clever Cab has been designed and built to offer not only more space and comfort but also ergonomic solutions aimed at making the operator's life on board the tractor excellent. Just like the new LED headlight system that ensures optimal visibility outside, especially during nighttime operations. Windshield and doors benefit from innovative glass developed by Saint-Gobain, which improves thermal insulation both in summer and winter, significantly enhancing cabin comfort in terms of maintaining the desired temperature and reducing the use of the air conditioner and its energy consumption. The controls have been redesigned for even greater convenience, while the dashboard and digital interfaces have been enhanced for easier and more satisfying use.

Also making its debut in Hanover, in the medium-power segment, is the new P3-Drive transmission, designed and manufactured entirely in-house by Argo Tractors and installed on the X5.120 utility tractor.

The P3-Drive made in Fabbrico

The 36+12 or 48+16 transmission with creeper allows, for each range, a combination of 3 PowerShift (HML) with 4 robotized gears, providing 12 automatically controlled ratios. This is all managed through the SmartPilot Joystick, utilizing the Auto PowerShift (APS) feature, which automatically engages gears as the speed increases, both during field operations (AutoField) and on-road transport (AutoRoad).

Equipped with an FTP F36 engine, compliant with Stage V emission standards, with a 3.6-liter capacity, 4 cylinders, and 16 valves, the X5 range delivers power ranging from 95 to 114 horsepower and a maximum torque of 395 to 460 Newton meters, all within a compact tractor with a wheelbase of 2,354 mm.

For the first time on this model, the ADS+ (Advanced Driving System+) is introduced. It enables advanced steering functions, such as automatic wheel alignment in Road mode, effortless maintenance of direction on rough terrains by the operator, and a system that increases steering wheel stiffness as speed increases, ensuring a car-like driving comfort.

On the X5.120, the open-center hydraulic circuit with a triple pump of 82+32 l/min ensures high-performance operation with the loader, rear and front lifts, and equipment connectable to the 5 distributors provided by the machine.

The rear lift is of category 2 with electronic control and a capacity of 4,500 kg, while the front lift has a lifting capacity of 2,200 kg.

The tractor is prepared to accommodate a rear ISOBUS socket, Precision Steering Management (Psm) satellite guidance, and comes standard with McCormick Digital Solutions: McCormick Fleet Management for optimal fleet management in terms of telematics and remote diagnostics and McCormick Farm, an innovative app that manages all the agronomic aspects of the farm, collecting data and making it available for activity records and inventory management.

The High Performance of X8 VT-Drive

In addition to the X5.085, X7.6 VT-Drive, X6.4 P6-Drive, and X4 TF-TM crawlers, as we move up in power, McCormick will present in Germany the X8 VT-Drive range, consisting of two models: the X8.627 and the X8.631 VT-Drive, with power outputs of 273 Hp and 313 Hp, respectively. They are equipped with a 6.7-liter six-cylinder FPT N67 Stage V engine featuring an electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger eVGT and using the HI-eSCR2 exhaust gas after-treatment system.

Two versions are available: Efficient and Premium. The VT-Drive transmission is continuously variable with four stages and dedicated hydraulic circuits. Among its distinguishing features is its responsiveness, allowing the transition from 40 kilometers per hour to 40 or 50 kilometers per hour, at 1,300 and 1,580 rpm respectively, significantly reducing fuel consumption.

The X8.631 VT-Drive model with a maximum permissible weight of 16,000 kg and a wheelbase of 3,000 millimeters will be on display at Agritechnica.

The closed-center hydraulic system includes a load-sensing pump with a capacity of 160 liters per minute (an optional pump with a maximum capacity of 212 liters per minute is also available) and an electronically controlled pump with a capacity of 115 liters per minute for steering. There are six rear electrohydraulic distributors and three front ones, with flow rates of 140 and 100 liters per minute, complemented by a three-way flow divider with dedicated quick couplings. This solution allows the management of three hydraulic movements using a single distributor.

The cab is the aforementioned Clever Cab, featuring a 14% increased internal volume, a seat (suspended, air-conditioned, and with a swiveling headrest) with an extended travel of an additional 120 mm, and the availability of Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity systems.

The electronic rear lift can handle up to 12,000 kg, while the front electronic lift with position control can lift up to 5,000 kg. For better equipment management, there is a rear PTO with electrohydraulic engagement at 540E/1000E/1000 (standard) and an optional front PTO with electrohydraulic engagement at 1,000 rpm.

It comes equipped with Precision Steering Management satellite guidance and the telematics system McCormick Fleet & Diagnostic Management, as well as the recent McCormick Farm app, allowing for the smart management of the farm by optimizing the collection and use of agronomic data and activity record administration.
