Performance from the X8.634 VT-Drive Tractor
McCormick offers the market the new X8.634 VT-Drive, the top model in its X8 range.
In the running for the 2026 Tractor of the Year award, the McCormick 8X.634 VT-Drive is powered by a six-cylinder FPT N67 engine with eVGT Stage V turbine, delivering up to 340 horsepower, propelling the tractor to a top speed of 50 km/h. The transmission is a ZF TMT32 continuously variable stage 4 transmission, managed electronically through the combination of smooth-engaging wet multi-plate clutches and a set of epicyclic gears. The front axle with integrated brakes and the front suspension with parallelogram system, electronically controlled from the multifunction armrest are standard. The fully floating suspension is automatic above 15 km/h. Performance yes, but also driving comfort. In fact, McCormick engineers have focused heavily on the new Clever Cab designed with increased dimensions in terms of glass surface, internal volume and height. The Comfort Sky® glass coating, says the Fabbrico (RE) company, maintains the internal temperature up to 6 degrees higher than conventional glass and reduces noise levels to 68 dB. Additionally, a latest-generation seat with sliding headrest, soft-touch materials and enhanced climate control is available as an option. Also new are the rear window (larger and with improved visibility), the rearview mirrors and the LED rear lights. The technologically advanced driving station features the DSM Plus system, consisting of two 12” touch monitors to control all tractor functions, including Precision Steering Management, ISOBUS and customized menus such as MyFunction, MyLights, MyHMF and hydraulic management. The technological equipment is completed by built in McCormick Farm Management and McCormick Fleet & Remote Diagnostics digital solutions.
