At Agritechnica 2023 Kubota presented the autonomous tractor Agri Robo KVT. The new model enriches the range of “robotized” tractors, which began in Japan in 2017 with the SL60 and then continued with the 100 Hp class in 2020. Agri Robo KVT can be controlled manually or remotely or work in complete autonomy, thanks to an intuitive operating system. The Farm Management Information System (FMIS), this is the name of the technology, is positioned on the tractor control panel and allows real-time monitoring of the vehicle. Among the options available, there is also the use - remotely and simultaneously - of two tractors that can be operated by the user via tablet, with a special remote control, or with the screen positioned in the cab. The technicians of the Japanese group developed the Agri Robo KVT tractor from the M5112 model, with which it shares many of its components. The Kubota V3800 100 Hp four-cylinder diesel engine, hydraulics, axles and cab are all inherited from the previous model, while the KVT transmission has been completely redesigned to adapt it to automatic tractor functionality. The safety equipment of the Agri Robo KVT model includes, in addition to optical recognition systems that detect fixed or moving obstacles at a considerable distance, sonar and scanner technologies. Agri Robo KVT was exhibited for the first time in Europe in Hanover, but a date for marketing in the "old continent" has not yet been defined.
