Over five thousand models of machinery and equipment for agriculture, lawn care and related components, 350 exhibiting companies of which 50 from abroad, 120 foreign delegates representing 27 countries and thousands of buyers from all over the world. The seventh edition of Agrilevante, the major exhibition of agricultural machinery for the Mediterranean area, to be held in Bari from 5 to 8 October, is about to get underway with the numbers of a major event. Organised by the Italian association of agricultural machinery manufacturers FederUnacoma, the event returns to the Apulian capital after the suspension of the 2021 edition due to the Covid emergency, and confirms itself as an event capable of involving all players in the agro-food chain, and in the economic, political, educational and training worlds. Agrilevante is a successful event that has grown steadily over the years - between 2009 and 2019 the number of visitors has more than doubled from 33 thousand to over 80 thousand - thanks to a winning formula that has characterised the event not only as an exhibition event but as a wide-ranging platform for the development of Mediterranean agricultural economies. In addition to the presentation of the most innovative technologies for the traditional production chains of the Mediterranean basin - grains, olive oil, wine, fruit and vegetables, livestock and non-food - the Bari event offers numerous opportunities to analyse the technical and economic-political issues affecting the Mediterranean area, presenting itself as an arena for discussion with public decision-makers and all the players involved in agricultural development strategies. For the four days of the event - explain the organisers of FederUnacoma - as many as 40 thematic appointments have been scheduled, ranging from meetings of a more purely technical nature, such as workshops and in-depth seminars, to conferences on major economic-political issues such as the one on the potential of North African agriculture. But the focus of the Bari event is, once again, on technological innovation, with the prize-giving ceremony of the "Technical Innovation" competition (four mentions and four "Innovations" proper), and with the area specifically dedicated, inside the New Pavilion, to advanced electronic devices for precision agriculture and the digitalisation of farms. Advanced electronics, together with agricultural robots, will also play a leading role with demonstration tests in a special outdoor area, underlining how the digitalisation and automation of agriculture is a process that is now fully underway, with applications not only in large-scale extensive farming but also in specialised crops and niche production requiring special care and a high degree of "sensitivity" in the machines used. With these characteristics, the Bari exhibition confirms itself as an event of high content and international stature. The 2023 edition of Agrilevante has exhibiting industries from 20 countries, official delegations of foreign operators, organised by the ICE Agency and FederUnacoma, from 27 countries, and aims to confirm the large number of foreign visitors, who arrived in Bari from over 60 countries at the last edition. "To all the participants - says the manufacturers’ association FederUnacoma - the organisation extends its best wishes for their work and a pleasant stay in Bari, one of the cities that symbolises Italian style and Mediterranean culture".
