AMA, innovative components for the driver's cab
AMA focuses on three product innovations to be debuted at Agritechnica. First of all is its Dynamica steering column (designed by the AMA Imel Pertex division), which combines intelligent electronics, advanced mechanics and modular design. Designed for the needs of manufacturers and engineered for versatile applications – from harvesting machines to earthmoving machines – the Dynamica, according to the Reggio Emilia group, is the concrete demonstration of the transformation of OEM ideas into complete, flexible and market-ready solutions. The steering column features injection-molded plastic covers, a CAN Bus panel with five built-in buttons one for the hazard function and four configurable according to symbol, LED and software and CAN Bus plug & play connection, left and/or right side foot switches, and standard or custom wiring. There is also an optional sunlight sensor for automatic activation of the headlights, dual tilt and telescopic adjustment.
There are several innovative elements in the new offering: from the total electronic integration between the column, inverter and keyboard connected directly to the CAN line, with an ergonomic and modular design with three different mechanical adjustments (upper, lower and telescopic tilt) to ensure comfort and adaptability. Added to these is the frame designed not to interfere with the front view, a crucial feature for agricultural and earthmoving machinery, and application flexibility with customized configurations (pedal, wiring, buttons) offering OEM for different needs.
The collaboration between the Cylinders Division and the AMA Instruments Division has yielded new electric linear actuators that are fully integrated with electronic systems and CAN Bus. The Reggio Emilia group (headquartered in San Martino in Rio) points out that the distinctive value of electric linear actuators lies not only in their mechanical quality, but in their integration with control electronics and human-machine interfaces developed in-house. Such an approach allows us to offer a complete, ready-to-use and highly customizable system characterized by mechatronic integration, where actuator, control unit and HMI are developed together, ensuring compatibility, faster installation times and the utmost efficiency. The specially built electronics allow for real-time adjustments of stroke, speed and force, as well as advanced predictive diagnostics and preventative maintenance functions. Added to this are advanced interfaces, modularity and scalability with the ability to configure the system according to application needs, reducing complexity and increasing design flexibility.
The third innovation offered by AMA comes from the Composites division which presents GRIT, the new generation of reinforced thermoplastic composites. This is an advanced, patented technology designed to redefine the future of structural coverings for industrial and off-highway machinery. It combines the aesthetic and chemical qualities of ABS-PMMA with a new generation of GRIT reinforced thermoplastic to provide structural rigidity and impact resistance, even under extreme environmental conditions. Noteworthy features include a high-quality surface with no need for painting, the 100% recyclability of the materials, chemical resistance to oils, solvents and atmospheric agents and an advanced inter-layer bonding technology.
