Checchi & Magli's solutions for sowing and transplanting
Two new products will be on display at the Checchi & Magli stand at Agritechnica. The company from Budrio (Bologna) specializes in the manufacture of transplanters. The first is the DYNAMIC: a modular automatic transplanter with a built-in storage unit for the seedlings, an electro-pneumatic picking group, an electric sliding belt for the clods, a failure control/recovery area and, finally, a crate unloading device. The DYNAMIC's connectivity is entrusted to the ISOBUS system, which manages and monitors all functions directly from the display located in the tractor cab. The heart of the vehicle is a latest-generation robotic system capable of handling up to 14,400 plants per hour per row, which becomes 86,400 in the six-row configuration, typical of industrial tomato transplants. Each transplanting unit is independent, the parallelogram is equipped with Nitro Power Shock (NPS) technology, which compacts the soil up to 60% more than other vehicles on the market, thus improving plant rooting. The standard equipment is rounded out by the pneumatic ejector plowshare and the flex rubber compacting wheels, available in two different sizes (410x80 or 410x60 mm). The new transplanter from the Emilia-based company is available with a fixed or hydraulic folding frame, and in a mounted or trailed version. These models provide optimal ground adaptation and a reduced turning radius, even on small plots. Checchi & Magli also offers a wide range of optional extras, from microgranulators to watering systems connected to the front pump. The second new product proposed by Checchi & Magli is the SEEDPROe electro-pneumatic seeder. Compatible with the Wolf Pro and Smartwolf transplanter models, SEEDPROe is capable of planting up to 10,000 seeds per hour, with an efficiency of 92% says the Budrio-based company. The vehicle is equipped with an electro-pneumatic distributor that uses a 24-hole seeding disc, with a diameter varying from 2 to 6.5 millimeters, suitable for both small seeds, such as tomato seeds, and large seeds, such as pumpkin seeds. The vehicle can sow on biodegradable mulching film, but also on bare soil and, as an option, it is also available with a synchronized electronic watering system, which improves seed rooting times.
