March - April 2017 | Back

The national fair of the Chianina cattle breed is the clue moment of the 39th edition of the Fiera del Madonnino, that will be held in Braccagni, province of Grosseto, from 22 to 25 April.

The prestigious animal exhibition, in its 32nd year, is organized by the Italian National Association of Cattle Breeders and takes place in the fair grounds near Grosseto, a spotlight for the local livestock business of the Tuscan Region.

The Fiera del Madonnino is among the most important events of the spring, and it will showcase a wide range of products, with 325 exhibitors, both indoors and outdoors, and with great attention given to all the activities that involve close contact with nature, in particular nursery and agricultural activities.

In the course of 2016 Tuscany recorded a trend counter to the national one, with an increase of the total number of tractors of 23.9%, and  234 new tractors registered; these figures (provided by FederUnacoma) indicate the vitality of a sector, whose novelties will be at the centre of the Fiera del Madonnino. 80% of the exhibition area is in fact dedicated to machinery, equipment products and services for agriculture; the most important manufacturers of agricultural machinery will be present with their novelties, also providing farmers with information on the best land preparation techniques for an increasingly efficient and environmentally sustainable agriculture.

A number of side events will take place during the fair: meetings and seminars on agricultural topics, a ring for horse shows, and a didactic farm.

Starting this year, the exhibition in Grosseto will also have an equipped green area where visitors will be able to find accommodation and refreshments; furthermore, also this year the fair will organize a “baby parking” managed by qualified personnel, allowing families with very small children to visit the exhibition.
