The Madonnino Fair: two events in one

by Patrizia Menicucci
March - April 2014 | Back

The exposition is divided into two large areas planned to host some 300 stands. The first is covered and features artisan products, clothing, leather goods, food and drink, gift items and household goods, equipment and products for offices, businesses and communities, electronic, electrotechnical and IT and furnishings and equipment for the service and renewable energy industries. The second area, outdoors, brings together such more specialized items as machinery, equipment and other products for agriculture and livestock raising, gardening, construction and transport. Also planned for the fair are an area dedicated to sheep and goat raising and a pavilion set aside for the primary sector with stands taken over by associations which promote the local markets and the short production chain practice. Included in this area is a space furnished for conferences, meetings and debates on farming issues. The most important new feature of this year's Madonnino Fair, also known as the 25 April Fair, is the arrival of a review within the review format for the 5th edition of the March Gardens exposition put on the schedule months ago. This event is focused on flower nurseries and professionals in this business as well as floriculture enthusiasts. The theme areas in the review are bringing together those on plants and flowers, equipment for gardening and hobbyists, groundskeeping clothing and instruments and specialized publishers in the sector. On the side of logistics, the Braccagni Trade Fair Center, at work since 2009 on an area of 75,000 m², is connected to the Grosseto railway station by a shuttle bus in operation throughout the run of the fair. In the fair center, organizers have planned what is described as a “baby parking” area for welcoming children attending the review. FederUnacoma will be present with an institutional stand for the promotion the federation's activities in the west-central Maremma area.
