It will be held in Paris, from February 22 to 26, at the trade fair Paris-Nord Villepinte, the 2015 edition of SIMA-Simagena (World Salon of Suppliers of Agriculture and Breeding), which in the previous 2013 edition recorded the presence of 248,000 visitors coming from 145 countries and displayed means and systems for any type of agriculture.

The exhibition, arrived at the 76th edition with 1,740 exhibitors (increased by 25% compared to last  edition) representing 42 nations on 27 hectares of exhibiting area, will occupy from this year the area from pavilions 3 to 7 in order to meet the increasingly demand of space. The event will present new commodities with the contribution of professional equipment for the maintenance of public green space and machines for specialized tropical crops. Pavilion 3 will host the sector of parts and components which is in great expansion, with manufacturers presenting a wide range of products grouped by product category in order to facilitate the visit of the operators, while pavilion 4 will host storage silos. Pavilion 7 will host Simagena with equipment for livestock and a series of machines dedicated to the handling, transport and methanogenesis.

The central thread of SIMA 2015 is the slogan “Innovation First!”, inflected in various thematic perspectives: equipment (technologies and machines), cultivations (seeds, tropical and specialized crops) and people (territories, the evolution of professions and the role of farmers...).

The spaces dedicated to innovation are the “Innovation First!” area, where will be illustrated the results of research in the mechanical and agricultural fields of both French and foreign institutes, a focus on the topic “agriculture in perspective of 2050” and the Gallery of Innovation with the exposition of machinery and equipments winners of the Sima Innovation Award 2015. The topic is also present in an evolutionary perspective thanks to the Flashback Space where, through the exposition of vintage machines and equipments, will be retraced the technological progress made by the sector.

In terms of internationality, SIMA 2015 records an increase of foreign exhibitors, with 40 countries represented and the entry of manufacturers from Korea, Croatia, Estony, Greece and Lithuania and a larger exhibiting area with businesses from Turkey, India and Germany. It is also planned the presence of over 300 delegations of buyers and foreign consultants and the implementation of focus on the investment opportunities in South Africa, Mexico and Japan.

In detail, Simagena will host 200 European breeders with 250 cattles, representing eight different races, three cows (Holstein, Montbeliarde) and five beef (Aubrac, Blonde d'Aquitaine, Charolaise, Limousine, Salers). The livestock area, which this year has as its main theme that of livestock without horn, also includes a ring for competitions, open-shows, auctions and genomic presentations. In the matter of conferences, are scheduled international meetings on innovation, agricultural technicians, pac and biomethane (Agricenter – Mezzanine, Pav.4); conferences (Agora Sima, Mezzanine Pav.3) concerning topics such as the disposal of agricultural waste, irrigation, drones in farming and the agricultural industry and over 20 practical workshops (Pav.7) related to safe driving, new professions in the field of agricultural mechanization, precision farming, etc.

The exhibition will host the Village of Professions (Pav.7) with meetings and discussions for a comprehensive and transverse overview of the possible professions within the chain of agricultural machinery and related opportunities concerning training, transfer of knowledge, employment, as part of the production processing and services of the primary sector. In this context, the company Apecita, specialized in the field of employment of agricultural equipment, will organize a series of job dating conferences to allow the meeting between demand and supply of the sector, during the entire period of Sima. The space of the “good agricultural practices”, operating from 11 editions of the salon and planned by organizations of category, public institutions operating in the field of services, the Federation of agrosupplies and technical institutes of research – becomes from this year HubAgro with services directed to farmers with expert advice and proposals of solutions and services designed to respect health, security and environment.

The Federation of Manufacturers of Agricultural Machinery FederUnacoma will participate in  Sima to illustrate its activities and provide support and services to all members attending the event (Pav.5a – Stand F070). The magazine of the Federation, MachineryWorld, with a section dedicated to the exhibition and a biligual edition in Italian and French, will be distributed to exhibitors, economic operators and other visitors.

Sima will also host an initiative of solidarity: the organizers of the event will invite all visitors to throw the caps of plastic bottles in specific containers for their subsequent transformation in recyclable pallet, the retail revenues of which will be then donated to the Bouchonsd'Amour Association operating from 2001 with the aim of providing support to people with disabilities. Simultaneously with Sima will take place at Paris trade fair centre of Porte de Versailles, the Sia exhibition (International Salon of Agriculture, February 21 to March 1) that, on an annual basis, brings countryside in the heart of the French capital in the name of Animals, Nature and Living Products.
