Massey Ferguson, Dyna-CT for telehandlers

Massey Ferguson will be bringing several new products to Hanover. First of all its new series of MF 8S Xtra tractors, six models with power outputs ranging from 205 to 305 Hp, with Engine Power Management (EPM) capable of providing an additional 20 Hp. This is a strategic piece of equipment for the Agco brand which was the subject of an in-depth article in the last issue of Mondo Macchina. In addition to the MF 8S Xtra, Massey Ferguson introduces a new transmission, the Dyna-CT, on three models in the telehandler series range MF TH (MF TH.6534 Dyna-CT, MF TH.7038 Dyna-CT and MF TH.8043 Dyna-CT). These models share the same engines, lifting capacity and maximum height as the other MF TH series telehandlers, but are equipped with the new high-efficiency transmission that uses a main variable displacement hydraulic pump and two hydrostatic engines that work in such a way as to always deliver maximum performance at any speed. With no mechanical reduction gear, the new stepless transmission allows operators to select the most suitable speed on the move, even when towing or pushing heavy loads. Users can simply select between  "Hare" or "Tortoise" modes using a button on the joystick in the cabin. In "Hare" mode, the entire speed range from 0 to 40 km/h is available, while in "Tortoise" mode the top speed is limited to 20 km/h. In the cabin, the maximum speed limiter, automatic engine stop and start, cruise control and dynamic management can be programmed via the telescopic handler's 7-inch terminal. The limiter allows you to set a maximum speed between 1 and 40 km/h and set a password to prevent unauthorized changes. The new stop and start function was introduced with the aim of saving hours of work and fuel. The operator can specify an inactivity period from 1 to 20 minutes, after which the engine stops and the telehandler enters standby mode. Cruise control functions have been added with the selected speed and operating status clearly indicated on the digital dashboard display. Dynamic Traction Management (DTM) optimizes efficiency and reduces fuel consumption during transport operations. With this mode activated, the accelerator pedal sets the driving speed, while the engine and transmission are controlled automatically to keep the engine speed at a minimum, varying the workload.

On the terminal front, Massey Ferguson's efforts are truly remarkable. All tractors of the Agco brand from the MF 5M to the MF 9S offer Datatronic 5 and Fieldstar 5 on a 9-inch touchscreen. This allows creation of optimized profiles that can be stored for each application or implementation for proper configuration. But also what Massey Ferguson calls 'carousel management': operators can choose the five most used pages from the home page toolbar and selected pages can be quickly accessed by swiping the screen. The MF terminals manage all the advanced settings of the tractor such as engine, transmission, lifting, hydraulic parameters, ISOBUS and all Precision Farming. Compatible with Isoxml 3 and 4 and with Shapefile to read imported documents, it allows you to transfer and manage data via the MF TaskDoc application.
