Morra, versatile solutions for field operations

Morra tedders are ideal machines for spreading, turning and aerating forage on all surfaces. Reliable and versatile, in addition to ensuring the optimum preservation of the nutritional values of the crop, they speed up the drying process.

Approved for road transport - the 540H and 680H models have a width of 2.5 m, so no special transport permits are required - Morra tedders have a working width of between 2.80 and 8.8 metres and a number of rotors ranging from 2 to 6.  The catalogue of the Cuneo-based company (based in Roreto di Cherasco) includes both compact and lightweight machines, with a lower power requirement for the tractor, and robust and heavier machines, suitable for medium and large farms and for more demanding work.

One of the many strengths of these models, particularly worthy of note, are the double joints at the folding hinges of the rotor arms, the rotor boxes with grease-lubricated bevel gears, and the adjustment system for rotor inclination and wheel direction at the edge of the field. The tedders with a width of more than 4 metres are characterised by their mobile 3-point linkage, hydraulic lifting and adjustable wheels for working on the edges.

In the rake segment too, the Piemonte company can boast of a wide and varied range, with solutions that ensure the utmost lightness and cleanliness in processing the crop. As the manufacturer points out, these are machines with one or two rotors designed to work on flat or sloping terrain. Working widths range from a minimum of 2.8 metres to a maximum of 9.5 metres. "The removable rotor arms are arranged tangentially for better raking quality at high working speeds. The oscillation of the arms," explains the company in a technical note, "is controlled by self-lubricating ball wheels that slide inside a sturdy cam, whose optimised design reduces wear over time.”

The comb-holding arms are mounted on special self-lubricating bearings, while the inclination of the tines is such as to ensure that the hay is processed gently and the resulting swaths are a soft and airy. Another advantage of Morra's rakes is the central fixing of the rotor, which improves the management of the machine in the field (it adapts to the profile of the ground) and provides an even support pressure over the entire working width.

On the top-of-the-range models, the company from Roreto di Cherasco has provided a transport and steering system combined with oversized tyres that ensure safety during road transfers and reliability during work, while the Tandem axle - standard for the larger models and optional for the smaller models - ensures stability on uneven terrains.
