Proharvest BKT, harvesting tires
Heavy machinery such as combine harvesters often operate in difficult working conditions and subject tires to high stresses. The challenge for manufacturers like BKT is to ensure operational efficiency while protecting the soil from damage caused by compaction. Balkrishna Industries has designed the Agrimax Proharvest model specifically for the harvesting sector, combining performance, reliability and attention to the environment. Using VF (Very High Flexion) technology – the Indian company says – the tire is capable of withstanding up to 40% more load than the standard versions on the market under the same inflation conditions, with a wider and more uniform weight distribution on the ground. The new BKT model thus promotes soil conservation by reducing compaction.
The Proharvest carcass is made of reinforced polyester, combined with three layers of steel belts that provide greater resistance to deformation. Particular attention has also been given to the compound developed by the technicians of the Indian company to offer resistance to cuts and damage caused by stubble or other abrasive materials present on the ground.
The Agrimax Proharvest tread features an innovative open shoulder design that improves traction on rough and wet terrain and at the same time promotes self-cleaning, with rapid release of mud and debris when moving from the field to the road. Other advantages of the new tire worth mentiopning include CFO (Cyclic Field Operations) technology, which helps to tolerate temporary overloads beyond normal capacity (such as when the combine harvester tank reaches maximum filling) and then returns to standard operating conditions once the load is reduced.
